CARPENTER -TAPER-DRYWALLER

Carpenter Job Requirements and Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
• Prepare material takeoffs.
• Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard. Drywall hanging, taping, and finishing (mainly)
• Perform skilled carpentry work.
• Operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, and company equipment. Power tools and equipment are furnished by the company. 
• Prepare surfaces for paint and other applications.
• Implement safety procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines.
• Follow the company’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program.
• Prepare pre-task plans with Brycon field personnel and the safety team.
• Communicate with the Superintendent to keep them apprised of construction progress and associated issues or concerns.
• Responsible for creating a pre-punch list for Brycon personnel and ensuring items are completed satisfactorily.
• Other duties, as assigned.
• Employees may be required to work extended hours (more than 8 hours per day), as well as on weekends and holidays. Employees will be compensated in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent desired, and 3-5 years of experience in skilled carpentry, preferably drywall and finishing.  
• Favorable driver’s record/valid license. 
• Must successfully complete a background check and drug/alcohol test.
