Position Summary:

The Site Welder position will work primarily on construction sites. Welders need to be able to follow instructions and produce consistent, reliable, leak-tight quality welds. The Welder will set up components for welding according to specifications.

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Perform manual welding operations using FCAW / GMAW.
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
• Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements).
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
• Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.

 

Position Qualifications: 

• HS Diploma / GED
• <1 year of welding experience
• Technical Skills: Fabricating, Grinding, Torching, Arc Welding
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
• Ability to spend up to 6 hours walking and standing.
• Ability to travel up to 75%
