Job Summary:
The Electrical Design Engineer II is responsible for the development of new products including specifics such analog sensor drives, digital embedded circuits, and sensor components for new ONICON product offerings. The Electrical Design Engineer II will use common architectures and sub-systems across ONICON’s instrumentation platforms. The duties of the position will include component selection, product design, generation of new product design documentation, development and supervision of test plans, and the development of manufacturing and testing processes to support new product designs. In addition, this role also will support a product development team as a ScrumMaster, facilitating meetings, schedules, and the Agile Scrum process.
Essential Functions:
- Design new digital and analog circuits or determine suitability of existing circuits for new flow measurement devices
- Research, select, and approve substitute electrical components as required for existing designs
- Create electrical design specifications based on market requirements specs, uncertainty analysis, and requirements from other disciplines (mechanical and firmware)
- Create and update test plans and instructions as it relates to PCBAs and related electrical systems
- Supervise or perform testing in support of new component selection for current and new design
- Facilitate product development as ScrumMaster for one development team
Other Responsibilities:
- Prototype and test new designs during development
- Benchmark innovative technologies and improve existing technologies
- Perform any other duties or responsibilities as requested by the Supervisor or Manager
Qualifications:
- BS Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years testing and/or design experience with precision electro-mechanical measurement devices
- Experience using CAD tools for circuit analysis.
- Knowledge of SPICE simulation tools
- Knowledge of PCB layout techniques and CAD packages (Altium)
- Experience developing new products within a disciplined NPD process
- Good written and communication skills with ability to work in a strong team environment.

- Physical Demand(s): Can lift to 25lbs, sit and stand for reasonable periods of time.
- Visual Demand(s): Ability to look at a computer monitor for reasonable periods of time.
- Hazard(s): Manufacturing environment. Testing equipment that requires safety precautions.
