- Design and develop turbopumps for LOX/RP1 rocket engines
- Perform rotor dynamic, fluid dynamic, thermal, and structural analyses of turbopump components
- Use CFD, FEA, and 0D/1D system modelling tools for performance prediction and optimization
- Work on shaft seals, bearings, and lubrication systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including propulsion, mechanical, and materials engineers, to integrate turbopump systems into the overall rocket engine design
- Define and verify key performance parameters, such as flow rates, pressures, and efficiency, through simulation and testing
- Close collaboration with analysis, manufacturing, procurement, quality, and suppliers
- Oversee the testing and validation of turbopump components and systems to ensure compliance with aerospace standards
- Degree in Space Engineering, Aerospace Engineering (M.Sc.) or similar
- Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience
- Extensive knowledge in turbomachinery, including pumps, turbines and their integration
- Profound understanding of physics, fluid dynamics, manufacturing processes, rocket engine/propulsion systems
- Deep understanding of cryogenic fluids (e.g., LOX) and materials suitable for high-pressure, high-temperature environments.
- Proficiency with Creo and ANSYS Fluent for design and verification
- Proactive thinking, high level of motivation, flexibility, and team-working skills
- Proficiency in both German and English
