Description

SHINE Technologies is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor who will be responsible for providing supervision, oversight, and mentorship to Electromechanical Technicians for the new isotope production facility. The Maintenance Supervisor will report to the Maintenance Manager and work with maintenance technicians and facility technical staff to ensure the reliability of this first-of-a-kind facility.


The Maintenance Supervisor will work with the Maintenance Coordinator to assist in the development and oversee the execution of work packages and procedures for performing scheduled and emergent maintenance on all facility equipment and components, including novel and highly specialized nuclear, chemical processing, and auxiliary equipment.

The position may occasionally require non-standard work hours and shift work, including nights and weekends and may be on-call and available for both planned and unplanned emergency issues 24 hours per day.

  

The base salary range for this position is $91,000 - $101,920 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.


The expected start date for this position is May 18 to June 1, 2026.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific duties and responsibilities of the Maintenance Supervisor include, but are not limited to:

  • Champion a safe work environment and a robust safety culture by leading by example and setting the standard in various and hazardous work environments, such as, but not limited to confined spaces, working at heights, energized equipment, etc. 
  • Provide direction and oversight to maintenance technicians in all disciplines with a hands-on, proactive approach to problem solving and work execution. Empower others to perform without taking away individual ownership.
  • Work with the Maintenance Manager to develop, establish, and implement maintenance department policies, programs and procedures as required for facility operations.
  • Provide maintenance expertise in support of the design and construction of the facility, such as system descriptions, training materials, maintenance plans, and system walk-downs.
  • Support the department’s budget by exercising sound judgment, promoting cost-effective decisions, and implementing best practices.
  • Assist in the development or review of work packages and procedures to perform scheduled and emergent facility maintenance.
  • Challenge the status quo and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.


Requirements

  • High school diploma and experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or laboratory setting with familiarity with chemical, mechanical and/or electrical systems.
  • Strong understanding and execution of maintenance programs, such as LOTO, Confined Space, Rigging and Lifting, etc.
  • A minimum of six (6) years’ experience in maintenance, work planning, engineering, operations or similar role in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills.
  • Acting as a role model, work safety and led others to work safely within an industrial and radiation environment.
  • Able to safely operate Powered Industrial Trucks, such as forklifts.

Preferred:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering or related technical field.
  • Technical understanding of nuclear facility principles and operation.
  • Experience in Navy Nuclear or nuclear facility engineering, operations, maintenance, or equivalent in an NRC or DOE regulated environment is a significant plus.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience is desired.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort: 

  • This position requires the physical ability to safely perform essential maintenance functions, such as, but not limited to, working in confined spaces, working at elevated heights, climbing ladders and stairs, and lifting and handling tools, parts, and equipment, for extended periods.
  • Requires frequent leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, grasping, and reaching above the shoulders and below the knees.
  • Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average weight objects up to 40 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day. 
  • Fine motor coordination and strong depth perception is beneficial.
  • Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
