Technical Project Manager/ Technical Delivery Manager (Dev & QA)

With facilities in Europe, the United States, and Asia, Eurofins Genomics is an internationally leading provider of DNA sequencing services, genotyping services, DNA synthesis products, and bioinformatics services for pharma, diagnostics, food, agriculture, biotechnological, and research markets.

The Genomics business is enabled by global engineering teams working on next-generation applications and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), customer portals, and enterprise platforms. As a Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading multiple teams working across different technologies, ensuring predictable delivery, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

This role demands strong people, process, and product management capabilities, with the ability to define clear goals and ensure the team consistently meets them. It also requires a data-driven mindset to enhance productivity and efficiency, along with close collaboration with engineering, architecture, DevOps, QA, and business stakeholders to deliver outcomes aligned with strategic objectives.

This role reports to a Senior Manager.

Primary Responsibilities

• As a Technical Project Manager, you will own end-to-end delivery across multiple teams, including Development and QA Automation, working across diverse technologies.
• You will balance execution, governance, people leadership, and technical direction, while ensuring delivery aligns with business priorities, engineering standards, and organizational goals.
• You will act as a key interface between engineering teams and leadership, enabling transparency, accountability, predictable delivery, and continuous improvement.

Specific Assignments

Delivery & Program Management

• Manage and coordinate multiple cross-functional teams, including Development and QA Automation teams, across different technology stacks.
• Own project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, and quality commitments are met.
• Proactively manage risks, dependencies, issues, and escalations across teams and stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to delivery governance, quality standards, and organizational processes.
• Maintain high-quality project artifacts including plans, RAID logs, dashboards, and operational reports.

People Management & Leadership

• Provide people management for Dev and/or QA engineers, including:
• Goal setting and alignment
• Regular 1:1s
• Feedback and coaching
• Performance reviews and appraisals
• Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Build strong, motivated teams with clear ownership and expectations.

Technical Leadership (Dev & QA)

• Apply prior hands-on development or QA automation experience to guide technical discussions and delivery decisions.

Provide technical direction across :

• Development (design, implementation, integration)
• QA Automation (test strategy, automation frameworks, CI/CD integration)
• Engage in deep technical discussions and challenge solutions constructively.
• Ensure strong collaboration between Dev, QA, and DevOps teams to improve overall delivery quality.
• Agile & Execution Excellence
• Lead Agile / Scrum practices, including:
• Sprint planning
• Backlog grooming
• Reviews and retrospectives
• Drive predictable sprint execution and continuous improvement.
• Promote shift-left testing, automation-first mindset, and quality ownership across teams.

Quality Engineering & QA Automation

• Drive QA automation strategy aligned with product and delivery goals.
• Ensure test automation coverage across:
• Functional testing
• API testing
• Regression testing
• Ensure automation suites are integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Track and improve test effectiveness, defect leakage, and release quality metrics.
• Work with teams to improve overall product quality and release confidence.

Metrics, Reporting & Stakeholder Communication

• Define, track, and manage KPIs, KRAs, and delivery metrics across Dev and QA teams.
• Analyze delivery and operational data to derive insights and improve productivity, efficiency, and quality.

Prepare and present:

• Steering Committee (SteerCo) updates
• Executive dashboards
• Status and risk reports
• Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders across geographies.

Skills Required

Project & People Management

• Strong experience managing multiple teams across development and/or QA automation.
• Proven people management experience, including performance management and appraisals.
• Strong understanding of people, process, and product delivery.
• Experience driving Agile / Scrum delivery at scale.
• Ability to balance big-picture thinking with execution-level details.
• Technical Skills (Dev or QA Background)
• Hands-on background in software development and/or QA automation.

Experience with technologies such as:

• .NET technologies, Java, Angular, WPF, Python

Solid understanding of:

• Application architecture
• APIs and integrations
• Enterprise systems
• Experience with databases such as SQL Server and MongoDB.
• Ability to participate in and guide technical and design discussions.

QA Automation Skills (Mandatory for QA-focused candidates)

• Experience defining and managing QA automation strategies.
• Knowledge of automation frameworks and tools for UI and API testing.
• Experience integrating test automation with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of test metrics, defect management, and quality reporting.

Data, Metrics & Communication

• Strong experience defining and using KPIs, KRAs, and delivery metrics.
• Data-driven mindset with ability to derive insights from metrics.
• Strong Excel skills for reporting, analysis, and executive dashboards.
• Clear and structured documentation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 10–16 years of overall IT experience, with:
• Prior hands-on development or QA automation experience
• 3+ years in a Technical Project Manager / Delivery Manager role
• Experience working with globally distributed teams.
• Experience working with stakeholders across US and Europe.
• Exposure to DevOps and cloud-based delivery models.

PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL CRITERIA: Eurofins has a strong focus on Performance Management system. This includes quarterly calibrations, half-yearly reviews and annual reviews. The KPIs shall be set and may vary slightly between projects. These will be clearly communicated, documented during the first 30 days of your joining.
