THE ROLE

An exciting new opportunity exists for a highly experienced Finance Manager to join the Hallett Group. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will manage financial reporting and compliance function, ensuring effective reporting and controls are implemented and lead the Finance team. Our ideal candidate will be driven, organised, have strong leadership and problem solving skills, work efficiently under pressure and strive for business excellence. This is a permanent, full-time position based at our Dry Creek head office, offering the opportunity to work with a supportive and collaborative team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Support the Financial Controller in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of all financial reporting
  • Review and improve monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure completeness and compliance
  • Coordinate the preparation of annual income tax and FBT returns in conjunction with external accountants and advisors
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, accounting standards and internal control policies
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management of the finance team, promoting a professional and positive culture
  • Lead, mentor and develop finance team members through structured guidance, coaching and training
  • Oversee and support efficient, accurate and effective financial operations
  • Demonstrate a genuine commitment to safety by consistently displaying behaviours aligned with safe work practices

QUALIFICATIONS | EXPERIENCE | CAPABILITIES

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
  • Relevant professional certifications (CA/CPA) desirable
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring and developing a team
  • Demonstrated experience at mid to senior level in a corporate or private business
  • Strong organisational and time management capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong ability to influence
  • Strong ability to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships at all levels
  • A proactive and solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to remain composed and effective in high-pressure situations
