About the Job
Plant Manager is responsible for all daily manufacturing operations and production-related activities. This hands-on position is responsible for the development of practices and actions designed to increase productivity and deliver results. The successful candidate will meet production output and at desired quality for the lowest possible cost working within the standards of the Company and regulatory agencies. The role will direct, coach and mentor staff to develop methods to use the plant's human and capital resources to best meet production goals in addition to making processes more efficient. Full manufacturing statement responsibility and the requirement to meet KPI targets across labor, yield loss, quality, costs, efficiencies, safety and other notable areas. Performance will be evaluated by measuring employee retention and turnover, reduced total recordable injury rates, first pass quality, case fill rates, on time delivery, continuous improvement, and asset reliability.
Role will report to the Director of Operations.
Specific accountabilities include but not limited to the following:
- Provide overall leadership and direction to plant staff in all aspects of the production operation
- Monitor departmental performance against goals to ensure results
- Anticipate and provide direction on future capital projects and equipment needs
- Maintain effective community and government relations
- Understand and deliver customer requirements
- Ensure a safe work environment through safe work behaviors, safe work conditions and elimination of deficiencies
- Managing through subordinates, supervisors and managers, assure employee engagement, safety, quality, customer service, cost, and production objectives are met or exceeded
- Meet food safety and quality requirements

- Bachelor’s degree Business, Engineering, Food Science or related field or possess commensurate knowledge, wisdom and experience to achieve successful results
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Minimum 10 years leadership level experience in food manufacturing environment
- Food industry experience and understanding of USDA, FDA, OSHA, and BRC/SQF requirements, highly desired.
- Current or previous experience in plant management overseeing operations for equivalent sized manufacturing operation.
- Ability to understand the vision and culture of the organization and translate into specific actionable plans, and hold team members accountable to achieve desired results.
- Proven ability to build strong teams and interact at all levels of the plant.
- Demonstrates a passion for learning and a willingness to build new skills. Recognizes opportunities to simplify processes and create efficiencies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication to varied audiences.
