Systems Administrator – Solaris / AIX

Key Responsibilities

· Administer Solaris and AIX servers: installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades.

· Manage storage and clustering/HA across Unix platforms.

· Handle volume management, disk groups, filesystems, and replication.

· Troubleshoot OS, storage, and cluster issues impacting uptime and performance.

· Provide L2/L3 support, participate in on-call, and drive RCA for major incidents.

· Implement OS hardening, patching, and access control in line with security standards.

· Automating routine tasks using shell scripting is a plus.

· Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and technical documentation.

· Collaborate with product, SRE, DB, and network teams on deployments and changes.

  Required Experience

· 7+ years as a Unix / Systems Administrator.

· Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Solaris (10/11) and IBM AIX (7.x).

· Solid experience with clustering / HA / storage in Unix environments.

· Proven skills in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and volume/filesystem management.

· Strong shell scripting capabilities.

· Experience in 24x7 production environments with SLAs.

· Good communication and time management skills.
