Human Resources Manager - Holiday Inn & Suites Geelong
IHG.com
Office
Australia
Full Time
Holiday Inn & Suites Geelong is a modern, full-service hotel operating in a dynamic, multi-department environment including accommodation, food & beverage, meetings and events, and family-focused experiences. Proudly part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, we combine global brand standards with a strong local culture and a hands-on leadership approach.
We are a people-powered business, and we’re seeking an experienced Human Resources Managerto join our leadership team on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract, covering parental leave.
Our teams sit at the centre of everything we do, and we believe great guest experiences start with engaged, supported and well-led people. Culture here isn’t something we talk about once a year. It is something we actively shape, protect and evolve every day.
Why this role is different
This isn’t an “HR from behind a screen” role and it’s definitely not about quoting policies from a safe distance.
At Holiday Inn & Suites Geelong, HR is embedded in the operation. You’ll be on the floor, in conversations, supporting leaders in real time, welcoming new starters, farewelling others, coaching through complex moments and celebrating wins, and sometimes all before lunch.
You’ll work with a leadership team that:
- Values HR as a strategic partner, not a last-minute fixer
- Wants challenge, guidance and perspective, and not just compliance
- Understands that strong culture and strong performance go hand in hand
Your days will be varied (and never boring): one moment you’re navigating employee relations, the next you’re driving engagement initiatives, managing workers compensation, or making sure payroll lands perfectly, because let’s be honest, nothing gets attention faster than payroll.
You’ll make a genuine impact on people’s experience at work and yes, there will be laughs along the way.
This role will suit someone who:
Thrives in a hands-on, operational environment
Loves people, but also appreciates a well-structured process
Can balance empathy with accountability (and knows when each is needed)
Is comfortable influencing leaders and having real conversations
Enjoys variety, pace and being part of something bigger than a desk
Hospitality experience is great — but not essential. If you understand complex, people-heavy environments and enjoy being close to the action, you’ll feel right at home.
What we need from you:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or other related discipline
Related experience in a HR Manager or Senior HRBP role. Hotel or Hospitality industry experience would be ideal but not essential.
Ability to impact and influence those around you with outstanding stakeholder management in a fast paced and energetic environment.
Solid understanding of employee relations, particularly Award interpretation. Experience with the Hospitality Industry General Award would be advantageous.
What you can expect from us:
A supportive, engaged executive team
The backing of a global brand — IHG Hotels & Resorts
Competitive salary and excellent IHG benefits, including global staff discounts
Strong wellbeing focus through IHG’s myWellbeing framework
A workplace where your voice is heard and your contribution matters
At IHG, we welcome everyone and create inclusive teams where difference is celebrated, and people are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work.
