The Junior QA Engineer plays a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our digital deliverables. This entry‑level position supports the QA team through manual testing, documentation, and cross‑functional collaboration with developers, project managers, and other stakeholders. The role is ideal for someone early in their QA career who is detail‑oriented, curious, and eager to grow within a structured quality framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute manual test cases for web and mobile applications.
- Review requirements and user stories to ensure testability and accuracy.
- Perform functional, regression, and smoke testing across assigned projects.
- Log, track, and verify defects using QA tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Testlink).
- Analyze test results and provide clear, concise feedback to developers and project managers.
- Support testing activities during content releases, production fixes, and feature enhancements.
- Maintain and update test documentation, test cases, and quality procedures.
- Participate proactively in daily/weekly team meetings, ensuring visibility of risk areas and blockers.
- Collaborate closely with QA Leads and Senior QA Engineers to continuously improve QA processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 0–2 years of experience in software QA, preferably in web environments.
- Basic understanding of front‑end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Familiarity with QA methodologies, functional testing, and regression testing.
- Experience with QA tracking tools (JIRA, Testlink, DevTrack, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and testing techniques.
- Availability to work extended or flexible hours if required (as noted in existing QA expectations).
Preferred Qualifications
- Academic background in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or similar fields.
- Basic knowledge of back‑end technologies (Java, .NET) or databases helpful but not required.
- Exposure to mobile testing or device‑based QA.
- Knowledge of non‑functional testing areas such as performance or accessibility is a plus.
