The Litigation Paralegal will play a key role in supporting Moon Valley Nurseries’ in-house legal team in managing litigation, claims, and compliance matters. This position requires a seasoned legal professional with strong litigation experience, excellent organizational and writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple, complex matters independently in a fast-paced environment.

 

This is a part-time, in-office position based at our corporate headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this role.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities                                                                                       

• Assist with all aspects of commercial and employment litigation matters, including document review, discovery, and case file management
• Coordinate and manage insured claims and act as a liaison between the company, outside counsel, and insurance carriers.
• Maintain and organize litigation and claims files, including docketing and tracking critical court and administrative deadlines.
• Gather and summarize facts through document review, internal interviews, and investigation for attorney review.
• Prepare, review, and process subpoenas, discovery requests, and legal correspondence.
• Assist with licensing and regulatory compliance matters as needed.
• Manage and update claims management and insurance portals to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive legal and business information.
• Collaborate effectively with attorneys, leadership, and various business units to support legal operations and mitigate risk.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities                                                                                        

• Paralegal certificate strongly preferred.
• Notary Public commission preferred.
• Minimum 7years of experience in commercial and employment litigation defense, preferably within a large law firm environment.
• In-house experience in addition to law firm training is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience managing insured claims and working with insurers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) required.
• Experience with claims management and insurance portals preferred.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, maintain confidentiality, and uphold ethical standards.
• Licensing experience is a plus.

 

Education                                                                                       

 Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree required.

 

 Physical requirements/Working Conditions                                                                                       

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 15 pounds.
