AI & Automation Engineer

At Ciena, we are seeking a highly motivated AI & Automation Engineer/Developer to design, build, and scale intelligent solutions that transform business processes. This role focuses on leveraging Moveworks / Microsoft Copilot and other automation platforms to deliver impactful outcomes. You will work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop use cases, and integrate AI tools seamlessly into enterprise workflows or technologies.

How will you make an impact:

• Design and implement AI-driven automation solutions using MS Copilot, Moveworks, or other relevant platforms.
• Analyze business processes to identify automation opportunities that improve efficiency and productivity.
• Document use cases with process maps, ROI analysis, and scalability considerations.
• Develop and document use cases with clear objectives, measurable outcomes, and scalability in mind.
• Integrate AI tools with enterprise applications (e.g., ServiceNow, Snowflake, Salesforce, Microsoft 365, HR, Legal systems) for end-to-end automation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, business units, operations) to gather requirements and deliver solutions aligned with organizational goals.
• Ensure all solutions adhere to security, compliance, and data privacy standards.
• Monitor and optimize deployed solutions for performance, reliability, and user adoption.
• Stay updated on emerging AI and automation technologies and proactively recommend innovative approaches.
   

The must haves:

• 2–3 years in AI, automation, or related technology development roles.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot, Moveworks, or similar AI platforms.
• Familiarity with workflow automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, UiPath, ServiceNow automation).
• Knowledge of API integrations, scripting (Python, PowerShell), and basic programming concepts.
• Understanding of generative AI concepts, LLMs, and AI-driven analytics.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proactive, open, and constructive approach.
• Eager to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
