Job Description:

Take the lead in keeping our retail network running at its best! As the ANZ Maintenance Manager, you’ll lead all aspects of proactive and reactive maintenance across all company-owned retail sites in Australia and New Zealand, plus select assets at dealer-owned locations. The mission? Ensure every site operates smoothly, efficiently, and reliably.

What you'll do:

Leadership, Accountability & Development

• Define clear team roles and foster accountability for safe, high-quality outcomes.
• Conduct regular performance reviews with constructive feedback focused on results and safety standards.
• Promote proactive communication, early risk identification, and a “Safety First” approach.
• Support professional growth through targeted training, continuous learning, and regular safety briefings.
• Lead by example—model integrity, drive continuous improvement, and maintain unwavering dedication to safety excellence.

Strategic & Commercial Leadership:

• Lead annual maintenance plans with safety and compliance at the core.
• Manage a $60M budget, optimizing spend and ensuring maximum value without compromising safety.
• Track performance metrics and implement timely interventions to boost operational, financial, and safety outcomes.
• Drive efficiencies and process improvements to enhance commercial results and strengthen safety standards.

Supplier & Partner Management:

• Drive supplier accountability for cost management, operational excellence, and strict adherence to safety standards.
• Lead governance meetings and foster collaborative relationships with partners, ensuring safety remains a top agenda item.

Operational Excellence and Strategy Execution:

• Drive ops excellence by leading maintenance strategies and ensuring compliance with bp’s OMS and regulatory safety standards.
• Build strong partnerships with contractors and suppliers to deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality outcomes.
• Implement critical initiatives that support ANZ network and asset investment programs, embedding safety in every project.
• Collaborate with the M&C ANZ Leadership Team to advance business objectives with a strong focus on safety and performance.

Team Leadership & Influence:

• Lead a geographically dispersed team, driving a positive and safety-focused performance.
• Build productive relationships and provide insights to optimize asset life, organizational capability performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Commerce, or Business is required.
• Demonstrated leadership and expertise in people management, with a strong commitment to safety, successfully coordinating teams located across different regions.
• Exceptional communication, commercial competence, and financial management skills.
• Expertise in project management, safety, and operational risk management.
• Experience managing large budgets and contracts with a focus on safety compliance.
• Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP, ARIBA) and MS Office Suite.
• Extensive experience in Facilities Management, ideally in a retail or saftey-critical environment.
