Who we are looking for
The Model Validation Quantitative Analyst will join the Model Risk Management team in Poland and will be responsible for conducting model validation activities. The MRM Poland team will cover the models used at State Street to make business and operating decision as well as insuring the implementation of Model Risk Governance Program guidelines and requirements. These models are in areas including interest rate risk, Asset Liability Management, market risk, counterparty credit risk, operational risk; liquidity risk and asset management.

What you will be responsible for
As Quantitative Analyst you will be responsible for
- Conducting model validation activities and ensure model risks are correctly identified, assessed, and captured,
- Assessing model theory and model assumptions as well as considering model methods and potential options,
- Testing and confirming model results by using documented procedures for running the model(s),
- Reviewing code documentation for proper model implementation, including the possible simulation of results,
- Working with data validation members and information technology professionals to determine model data integrity,
- Performing model validation processes and performing independent model validation of significant models,
- Assessing the stability and robustness of models by conducting backtesting, sensitivity testing, and stress testing,
- Identifying issues and requiring improvements related to the applicability of the different models assessed in meeting their objectives,
- Ensuring compliance with the regulatory (SR11-7) and State Street quality requirements for model risk,
- Delivering validation findings via management presentations and regular reports
- Communicating with onsite validators, model owners, model developers and business to relay the issues and feedback and capture the action plans,
- Ensuring quality checks and controls including standardization of assessments and dissemination of feedback across team members.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or related field. CFA, FRM or PRM designation a plus,
- 1-2 years of experience in model validation or other relevant experience in quantitative finance
- Strong knowledge of theoretical and empirical finance across a broad range of products and asset classes
- Excellent quantitative modeling, analytical, research, data analysis and programming skills (e.g. R, Python, SAS, Stata, SQL)

Minimum Salary:
The minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ.
Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees.
In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.
