About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi 

As a experienced Lead Test Engineer, you will use your high technical competence and strong leadership skills to deliver value for our customers. You will be responsible for managing small streams of work to the required quality standards. This includes hands-on test engineering, technical coaching and mentoring of other team members, and frequent collaboration with other team members across various streams of work. 

This is a fast-paced and exciting lead position where you will be helping develop automated test capability for some of our most complex applications as well as helping build a strong engineering practice by actively reviewing and coaching other team members in the best ways of working. 

You will also work very closely with our Technology, Services and Platform teams to ensure we build robust and secure automation solutions at an enterprise level. 
 
We have a strong Test Engineering community; our Lead Test Engineers are encouraged to contribute to the broader community by sharing their expertise and providing thought leadership to inform the strategic direction of test automation at ACC. 

About you | Mōu 

• Minimum 2 years in a Lead Test Engineer role 
• Have 6 plus years’ experience in software testing and 4 years of this in a Senior or Lead Test Engineer role 
• Skilled in UI and API automation, you have solid experience in Java, Selenium, API testing, GIT, Github Actions and DevOps practices 
• Basic knowledge of AI principles, including machine learning concepts, model evaluation methods, and ethical considerations, to support the delivery of high-quality and reliable AI solutions 
• Be comfortable doing hands on test automation in an existing Java/Selenium based framework (designing, coding, running, debugging, reporting, code reviewing, etc) 
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members 
• Be experienced and competent at doing code reviews for other engineers 
• Must have demonstratable, practical experience in coaching/mentoring 
• Ability to drive continuous improvement alongside project delivery - you will work with other lead engineers to improve and drive best practices in test automation at ACC 
• Experience working in different delivery methodologies (SAFe, waterfall, hybrid)
• Confidence to raise risks and highlight unrealistic expectations/timelines as needed

The full salary range for this role is $101,287 - $142,993 with appointment depending on skills and experience and internal relativities. ACC also offers 9% superannuation.
