- Position Overview
Responsible for managing financial and contractual aspects of MEP works in construction projects. They ensure cost efficiency, accurate budgeting, and proper resource allocation while maintaining high-quality and compliance with industry standards.

- Continuous monitoring of expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Timely assessment and approval of MEP contractor claims and variations.
- Proper management of contracts, variations, and claims in alignment with industry standards.
- Ensuring MEP installation meet local and international safety and quality regulation.
- Coordination with engineers and contractors to ensure MEP work aligns with project timelines.
- Proactive identification and mitigation of potential financial and technical risks.
- Implementation of cost-effective MEP solution without compromising quality and performance.
- Comprehensive cost analysis reports, BOQs, and financial statement for decision-making.
- Clear communication of financial risks, cost deviations, and project status to stakeholders.
- Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed coast estimates for MEP system (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, etc).
- Develop and manage MEP budgets throughout the project life cycle.
- Conduct feasibility studies to determine the cost-effectiveness of proposed MEP designs.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), scope of work, and tender documents for MEP works.
- Evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Assist in negotiating contracts and selecting MEP contractors.
- Ensure MEP contracts comply with industry regulations and project specifications.
- Monitor and manage contract variations, claims, and change orders.
- Identify and mitigate financial risk associated with MEP works.
- Track and monitor project expenditures for MEP works.
- Identify potential cost overruns and implement corrective measures.
- Prepare financial reports, cost breakdowns, and cash flow forecasts for MEP packages.
- Conduct quantity take-offs from MEP drawings and specifications.
- Assess and certify contractor payment applications and progress claims.
- Ensure variations and additional works are properly recorded and valued.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess the progress of MEP installations.
- Ensure MEP work aligns with project schedules and contractual obligations.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and consultants to resolve cost-related issues.
- Ensure all MEP works comply with local and international safety and quality regulations.
- Implement value engineering solutions to improve cost efficiency without compromising quality,
- Work closely with the design and construction team to optimize MEP systems for energy efficiency and sustainability.
- Selection Criteria
Essential
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or other related field.
- 3 years’ experience in MEP quantity surveying hospital construction.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software (i.e AutoCAD, MS Excel etc)
- Ability to assess costs and negotiate contract effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication for liaising with stakeholders.
- Accuracy in calculations and contract management.
