Position Title: Legal Assistant
Reports To: Legal Assistant Supervisor
The Litigation Legal Assistant provides comprehensive administrative and litigation support to attorneys, ensuring the efficient management of case files, court filings, and calendars. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. This is a fully remote position that plays a key role in ensuring the efficient execution of legal and administrative tasks in a fast-paced law firm environment. Standard hours for this position are 9:00 am – 5:00 pm PST with flexibility available to accommodate individual needs.
Responsibilities:
· Accurately prepare and file legal documents with California courts and agencies in advance of applicable deadlines, including electronic and manual filings.
· Maintain and organize electronic case files in compliance with California legal standards.
· Prepare, file, and submit court documents through electronic filing systems, including California e-filing platforms.
· Manage client communications, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and scheduling meetings.
· Schedule and coordinate court appearances, depositions, hearings, mediations, and other meetings.
· Coordinate attorney calendars, including court dates, deadlines, hearings, and internal meetings.
· Assist with internal events, client meetings, and trial or hearing preparation as needed.
· Assist with invoicing, expense reporting, and administrative tracking as needed.
· Support attorneys with research projects and other case-related tasks as assigned.
· Register attorneys for conferences, speaking engagements, and webinars.
· Maintain and update firm contact databases and generate reports as requested.
· Ensure strict compliance with firm confidentiality policies and procedures.
· Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.
Remote Work Expectations:
· This position is fully remote and requires a reliable high-speed internet connection and a secure, quiet home workspace.
· The candidate must be available and responsive during scheduled working hours and maintain regular communication with attorneys and staff via phone, email, and video conferencing platforms.
· The ability to manage tasks independently, meet deadlines, and maintain productivity in a remote environment is essential.
· Occasional flexibility in scheduling may be required to accommodate court deadlines, filings, or urgent matters.
· Adherence to firm policies regarding data security, confidentiality, and remote technology use is required at all times.
Requirements
Qualifications:
· Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal, preferably in a litigation environment.
· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
· Strong familiarity with California practice, including legal documents, court procedures, and litigation terminology required.
· Working knowledge of litigation management and document management software systems.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
· Exceptional organizational, planning, and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to manage confidential information.
· Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and follow up on outstanding matters.
· Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, colleagues, and external clients at all levels.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with a remote team.
· Professional, courteous demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
· Superior written and verbal communication skills.
· Professional demeanor with discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
· Ability to handle multiple directives in a fast-paced environment and adjust priorities as needed.

The firm’s expected salary range for this position is $65,000 - $90,000. Actual salary will be determined based on education, experience, internal equity and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law. The firm offers benefits including comprehensive health, vision, and dental insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement savings, and paid time off and holidays.
