We are currently seeking a Data Engineer to join our team.

Your Role at Batesville:

As a, you will be responsible for playing a key role in building and maintaining the enterprise data ecosystem, enabling data accessibility and supporting analytics initiatives. This position collaborates with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable data solutions using modern tools and best practices

  • The expected base salary range for this role is $80,000 to $100,000 per year. Actual compensation within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
  • In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based bonuses or other forms of incentive compensation.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, implement, and maintain efficient data models and architectures for enterprise use
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage across on-premises and cloud environments
  • Participate in modernization efforts, including transitioning from legacy ETL solutions to cloud-based frameworks
  • Collaborate with IT, data science, and business intelligence teams to align data solutions with business objectives
  • Implement and optimize ETL/ELT processes to integrate data from diverse sources (API, XML, JSON, Parquet, etc.)
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all platforms and pipelines
  • Create and maintain documentation for data models, architecture, and ETL processes
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in data engineering or related field

 Nice to Haves:

  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and non-relational databases
  • Hands-on experience with modern data engineering tools and cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and frameworks; experience with Databricks, Fivetran, and Azure Data Factory is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and data governance best practices.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or Scala
  • Understanding of version control (Git) and Agile principles
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
