Northland Controls is seeking a Management Accountant to join our Finance team in Letchworth. This is a key role supporting both the Finance function and the wider business, with responsibility across core accounting activities, financial reporting, audits, and international transactions.
The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant with strong technical expertise, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a global environment.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare journal entries, financial analyses, and account reconciliations.

Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.

Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the general ledger.

Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports and records.

Meet all processing, reporting, and regulatory deadlines.

Respond to information requests and assist with internal and external audits.

Ensure accurate internal and external reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Oversee and liaise with external parties including auditors, accountants, banks, vendors, tax authorities, and insurance providers.

Collaborate with operational teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition and optimise financial results.

Work closely with international finance teams on global initiatives and cross-border transactions.

Manage cash and banking activities.

Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.

Provide ad-hoc support to the Finance team and wider business as required.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent).

Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience (5+ years total accounting experience preferred).

Strong numeracy, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

High level of organisation and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong ethical standards and professional integrity.
Desirable:

Experience with ERP systems (SAP or NetSuite highly beneficial).

Experience working with international transactions and multi-entity accounts.

Knowledge of tax, audit, and regulatory compliance.
Reporting Structure
This role does not have direct reports but works closely with colleagues and provides financial insights to management.
