Global Sales & Services Operations (GSSO) is the team that helps shape Gartner's mission-critical sales priorities and works with Sales & Services leaders to drive tactical and analytical insights. As an associate on the GSSO team, you'll be at the forefront of the ongoing transformation of Gartner's sales force, which delivers approximately $4.9B in annual revenue and working to drive sustained double-digit growth. You will partner with business leaders across Gartner to support a global sales force comprised of more than 5,000 associates who sell to every major function, industry and market sector around the world.

About this role: 

This role will be a part of the Global Sales and Services Technology team in GSSO. This team innovates the way our team helps clients receive value, so technology leaders will be able to make smarter decisions in a different way.

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our team. The individual will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and delivering impactful AI/ML solutions for Sales and Service effectiveness. This position combines technical leadership with people management, enabling you to mentor and guide a team of data scientists while contributing hands-on to strategic initiatives. You will work on cutting-edge projects involving Generative AI, NLP, and predictive modelling to enhance client growth, engagement and retention.

What you will do:

  • Lead and mentor a small team of data scientists, providing guidance on technical approaches, best practices, and career development. 

  • Own delivery of complex data science projects from problem definition to deployment, ensuring scalability and reliability. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Data Engineering, Service Delivery) to integrate AI/ML solutions into business workflows. 

  • Provide thought leadership on solution design for initiatives involving LLMs, NLP, and advanced ML techniques. 

  • Drive innovation by exploring emerging technologies and methodologies to improve client value delivery. 

  • Ensure high-quality coding standards, documentation, and reproducibility across projects.

  • Design and implement LLM-based agents for synthesizing complex information and automating workflows. 

  • Develop NLP-driven solutions to extract insights from unstructured text (e.g., call transcripts, emails). 

  • Build predictive models for client engagement and retention, leveraging behavioural and transactional data. 

  • Create recommendation systems for next-best actions and personalized content delivery.

What you will need:

  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or other technology, Math, Physics, Statistics or Economics (focus on Natural Language Processing, Information Retrieval a plus)

  • 6 -10 years of experience in data science methodologies as applied to live initiatives or software development

  • Strong expertise in Python, statistical analysis, and NLP techniques. 

  • Hands-on experience with LLMs and Generative AI. 

  • Proven ability to manage projects and deliver solutions in an Agile environment.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Ability to balance hands-on technical work with team leadership.

  • A leader and mentor who enjoys developing talent and fostering a collaborative team culture. 

  • Innovative and strategic thinker with a passion for applying AI/ML to solve business problems. 

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality solutions.
