Position in context

Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, the Digital Marketing Coordinator is a key role within the Development & Communications team.

This role is formally based in South Melbourne. We support our staff to work flexibly, both in location and hours, based on the premise that work will remain the focus of any arrangement. How and where you work is discussed with each staff member based on individual circumstances, role requirements and accountability for delivery of high-quality work.

The Digital Marketing Coordinator is responsible for supporting the execution of our digital engagement strategy with a focus on the management, optimisation, and implementation of digital campaigns across email, web, social media, and other digital channels to raise awareness, grow our audiences, grow revenue, and build supporter loyalty.

Major job responsibilities

• Support the delivery and ongoing improvement of the Foundation’s digital engagement activities across email, social media, website and search to help grow audiences, drive revenue, and strengthen engagement.

• Create high-performing email communications that follow best practice, with optimised templates, consistent delivery, and measurable improvements in open, click-through and conversion rates to support acquisition, onboarding and retention of supporters and users.

• Assist in planning and implementing digital campaigns focused on lead generation and conversion across multiple digital channels, including paid social and search (SEM), under the guidance of the Digital Marketing Manager.

• Support an increase in digital fundraising outcomes through well-maintained virtual gifts, Meta fundraising tools and other platforms, supported by accurate tracking and ongoing optimisation.

• Collaborate with the Programs team to help deliver campaigns that raise awareness of the Foundation’s programs, assisting with targeting, content uploads, and optimisation of user journeys from acquisition through to landing pages.

• Support the creation of high-quality, conversion-focused landing pages that enhance user experience, support campaign objectives, and improve performance through ongoing optimisation.

• Support social media coordination by assisting with planning, editing, scheduling, content capture, uploading content, community engagement and monitoring performance to ensure alignment with campaign goals and brand messaging.

• Provide accurate digital reporting and actionable insights that help the team understand performance, identify improvements, and support decision-making.

• Coordinate production of digital assets with designers and internal stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met, assets meet brand guidelines and are accessible and user friendly.

• Stay informed on digital marketing and fundraising trends, bringing new ideas and recommendations to the team for potential implementation.

• Work with your People Leader to plan and deliver your personal work objectives that align with team and organisational goals.

• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture, supporting colleagues and embodying the Foundation’s values.

• Provide support during out-of-hours social media monitoring on a rostered basis and assist at Foundation events or campaigns as needed.

• Perform other duties as required by the Head of Marketing, Director, Development & Communications, or Executive Leadership Team.

Knowledge, Experience & Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in digital marketing or campaign management role in a complex consumer environment or not-for-profit organisation.

• Demonstrated success in the development and execution of digital marketing strategies including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, content marketing, and analytics that drive income, audience growth, and lead generation.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive decision-making.

• Demonstrated experience in the use of tools and systems for paid campaigns, eDM building platforms (e.g MailChimp, MS Dynamics) and website CMS (e.g Craft and WordPress), and knowledge of email marketing best practice, basic html and A/B testing.

• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise work demands to meet competing deadlines.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.

• Ability to work outside standard office hours for key events and social media management, as required.

• Working with Children Check and Police Check.
