      Job Description: Senior Legal Counsel 

       

      Please note this role is a 6 month fixed term contract to cover commercial matters 

       
      Main Activities: 
       
      Your main responsibilities will include: 

      • Providing accurate and timely legal counsel to stakeholders on a wide range of legal topics, including contractual matters, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management 

      • Creating, reviewing, and negotiating various legal documents such as customer (including DORA addendums), vendor and partner agreements, terms & conditions and other contractual arrangements 

      • Managing disputes, pre-litigation, and litigation matters and developing effective strategies to resolve legal issues and protect the company's rights 

      • Liaising with and supervising external counsel for outsourced legal matters, ensuring efficient and cost-effective legal representation when required 

      • Providing legal guidance on issues that impact the organization, and collaborating with third parties, including regulators and external counsel, as needed 

      • Offering legal expertise in matters related to regulatory compliance, data protection, intellectual property, employment law and other relevant areas as needed 

      • Advising senior management on the legal implications of strategic decisions and business activities 

      • Providing training to the business on specific areas of legal expertise and as part of sales onboarding 

      • Contributing to the development and improvement of the legal function, for example drafting or improving legal templates and playbooks 

       
       
      Key Requirements: 

      • You have a professional legal qualification preferably in England & Wales, but other common law jurisdictions will be considered 

      • You have proven experience in general commercial issues working in-house or in private practice 

      • You possess excellent legal and strategic judgment, coupled with strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills 

      • You have learner mindset and capability to expand your knowledge in relevant areas of law beyond your current expertise and are keen to embrace legal tools and technology 

      • You possess strong analytical skills, are meticulous, and are a quick learner 

      • You are a good team player and possess a high level of integrity 

      • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills 

       
       
      Desirable skills: 

      • Experience in the telecoms infrastructure or related industries 

      • Experience in corporate M&A
