Job Description:

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled IT Support Engineer – Computer Systems to join our IT team in Ennis, Ireland. In this role, you will provide Tier-2 desktop support for our internal users, acting as a vital liaison between Tier-1 and Tier-3 IT teams. You will ensure the timely resolution of IT issues, supporting our offices across Ireland. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with both technical teams and non-technical end users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to employees for internal hardware and software as well as troubleshooting support for network, server, and storage infrastructure for 200+ users.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop and laptop systems, and install and modify different operating systems and software in a diverse environment.
  • Participate in the implementation of IT infrastructure projects.
  • IT Procurement for all types of IT related parts.
  • Warehouse inventory ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Tracking and updating within the internal ticketing system.
  • Oversee security reports, undertaking updates, and patching to ensure our systems are secure.
  • Organizing repair or replacement of hardware from vendors.
  • Datacenter Maintenance and Documentation.
  • Assisting with other technical functional teams.
  • Demonstrate and adhere to the Microchip values.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years supporting Windows Desktop Operating systems.
  • An Understanding of DNS, Active Directory, DHCP, Windows Command Line and Powershell.
  • Proficient with Windows 10/11, Active Directory, and Microsoft O365.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems is a plus.
  • Must be able to work in a high pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Comfortable working within a multi-tiered support structure.

Preferred Skills/Certifications:

  • ITIL Foundation (V3 or V4) certification
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification
  • Experience with engineering lab support
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms
  • Previous experience at Microchip or other enterprise manufacturing desktop support environment
