Full Time
To oversee and manage the financial operations of ARI Ireland. This role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting to support the retail operations. The Finance Manager is responsible for analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights to optimize financial performance. Additionally, this role includes managing financial risks, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and collaborating with other departments to achieve and drive the overall financial goals and success of ARI Ireland.
Financial Planning and Analysis
Develop and manage financial plans, budgets and forecasts (including long term modelling) to support the retail operations. Ensure all plans are underpinned with sound robust assumptions & projections. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances and opportunities for improvement, enabling non-finance team to understand the underlying drivers that most impact performance. Provide key financial and operational ad-hoc analysis as required. Coordinate and maintain a balanced scorecard to support delivery of annual budget, include appropriate reviews and updates
Financial Reporting
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial performance.
Risk Management
Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. Implement effective controls to safeguard assets and mitigate risks. Ensure that appropriate processes are in place to identify, review, monitor and manage key risks via maintenance of a risk register for ARI, including the coordination of monthly and quarterly updates.
Cost Control and Optimization
Monitor and control costs to ensure efficient use of assets and resources. Identify areas for cost reduction and implement strategies to optimize financial performance.
Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with other departments, such as operations, support functions, group finance and procurement, to align financial goals with overall business objectives and ensure finance is embedded in all decision-making processes. Be a proactive partner with the operation team to understand frontline and customer challenges to help translate financial insights into actions to improve business performance. Facilitate regular performance reviews with operational leadership team to clearly communicate financial performance.
Cash Flow Management
Oversee cash flow management, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs. Manage working capital and optimize cash flow to support business growth.
Financial Systems and Processes
Maintain and improve financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Implement best practices and leverage technology to streamline financial operations.
Team Leadership and Development
Lead and develop the finance team, providing guidance, training, and support. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Skills
Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
Risk Management: Proficiency in identifying and managing financial risks, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey financial information to various stakeholders.
Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills to guide and develop the finance team.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement strategies to improve financial performance.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.
Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with financial software and systems, and the ability to leverage technology to enhance financial operations.
Qualifications and experience
- Recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, ACMA or equivalent)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role with a proving track record of managing financial operations in a retail or similar environment
- Understanding of the retail industry (preferably particularly airport retail) and the unique financial challenges it presents.
- Experience in ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic financial planning and execution to support business growth.
