Role Summary:

Join LSEG Capital Markets Technology and help shape the future of trading technology. We’re looking for an experienced DevOps lead to support TRADEcho, our MiFID II reporting services, hosted on AWS and operated by the London Stock Exchange Group.

The team provides cover (onsite in Sri Lanka) from 2am through to 6pm (UK Time) Monday to Friday with the late shift being performed by on call. There is occasional weekend work required as Saturdays are used to test and roll forward software releases.
 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead DevOps practices within a development pod, ensuring resilience, scalability, and automation.
  • Own CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and monitoring solutions.
  • Support production environments on AWS and on-prem, including Level 2 support and occasional on-call/weekend work.
  • Mentor a small team of DevOps engineers and drive continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 4+ years as a Senior DevOps Engineer.
  • Strong Scripting in AWS and Kubernetes expertise.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform, CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, Ansible), and scripting (Bash/Python).
  • Ability to design solutions for complex systems and guide teams on deployment best practices.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with modern tooling (DataDog, GitLab, ServiceNow), networking diagnostics, and Agile practices.
  • AWS certifications and financial services background.

Main Responsibilities

  • Act as operational SME for the product while also gaining a solid understanding of the underlying infrastructure and operations toolset
  • Partner with the business and technology
  • Gain an in-depth knowledge of the departments processes and ensure compliance with these processes with focus on driving down incidents and problems while delivering changes
  • Support development changes, providing accurate estimates for time and capital costs, attending project meetings and analysing impact for proposed project work
  • Proactively identify operational risks. Provide short term solutions whilst supervising long term resolution.
  • Provide operational impacts and inputs into architectural design
