Job Summary
Keyrus is looking for a Product Owner – Reinsurance & ILS Technology (Claims or Underwriting Operations). The ideal candidate combines strong product ownership experience with solid business acumen and a passion for driving continuous improvement in complex operational environments. We value professionals who are outcome-driven, highly collaborative, and comfortable working with senior stakeholders, ensuring that technology-enabled change delivers real business value.
This role will support the evolution and continuous improvement of core reinsurance operational capabilities, with a focus on either Claims or Underwriting Operations.
This position is Hybrid in Lisbon.

Key Responsibilities
Partner closely with the Head of Reinsurance Value Stream (Product Manager) to define and evolve the product vision for Claims or Underwriting Operations
Maximise value delivery by identifying, prioritising, and sequencing initiatives that address business needs and strategic objectives
Own and manage the product roadmap, ensuring frequent and consistent delivery of value
Lead continuous improvement initiatives, driving efficiency, scalability, reliability, and user adoption
Champion automation and innovation to enhance operational services and user experience
Apply a “data product by design” mindset, ensuring new features consider analytics, MI, and future AI/ML use cases
Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring clarity, prioritisation, and alignment with product goals
Apply Agile and Flow principles, adapting ways of working to squad maturity rather than rigid processes
Ruthlessly prioritise valuable work, minimise WIP, and avoid over-commitment
Support DevOps maturity, with awareness of DORA metrics (Deployment Frequency, Lead Time, Change Failure Rate, MTTR)
Encourage experimentation and innovation, ensuring squads have time to explore new technologies and approaches
Communicate product vision, roadmap, and progress clearly to stakeholders at all levels
Ensure squads understand the “why” behind their work, maintaining engagement and motivation
Build and maintain strong relationships with business, technology, and operational stakeholders
Act as a trusted point of contact for core user groups, driving satisfaction and adoption of products and services
Balance stakeholder demands by knowing when to say “Not yet”, maintaining focus on priority outcomes
Identify and mitigate risks, technical debt, and compliance requirements, including security and operational resilience
Ensure products remain patched, upgraded, and operationally resilient
Support squad health and psychological safety, working closely with Scrum Masters / Flow Engineers and technical leadership
Requirements for the role
4+ years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar product role
Proven track record delivering complex change initiatives in environments with high uncertainty
Strong understanding of Agile principles and Lean delivery, with a focus on outcomes over outputs
Experience managing product backlogs, roadmaps, and OKRs
Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate confidently with leadership teams
Strong ability to foster engaged, high-performing squads
Solid financial and commercial acumen, including business case development and ROI understanding
Experience tracking adoption, usability, customer satisfaction, and outcome-based success metrics
Fluent in English
Must be a Portuguese or European citizen or have a work permit for Portugal
