Job Location: 99 - Plains Bancorp Inc - Lubbock, TX 79490Position Type: Full TimeJob Category: BankingFirst United Bank is accepting applications for a Full Time IT Data Analyst to join our team. This position requires on-site presence and is not a remote role.
Responsible for performing technical audits and data analysis for the Information Security and Information Technology Departments. This position performs daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly audits and reviews validating IT controls for user and system provisioning. In addition, this position reviews logs from internal systems and secondary sources for identifying, analyzing, and interpreting anomalous activity. This position reports to the Information Security Officer and keeps all IT Management well informed of area activities and maintains all related records.
DUTIES:
Technical Audits:
- Collects, organizes, and reviews data for daily, weekly, and quarterly audits and reviews
- Reviews data to determine compliance of internal business processes, application systems, general controls, technical systems, and established policies and procedures
- Reports all audit and review findings and provides recommendation to the Information Security Officer for review prior to submitting to the IT Department
- Provides audit and review recommendations to the Information Security Officer, IT Management, and Bank Department Management based on audit findings to enhance and improve operations
- Monitors the status of corrective action plans to ensure they are being implemented
Data Analysis:
- Collects and review daily logs from primary sources (servers and applications) and secondary sources (cloud vendors and SIEM) for analysis
- Identifies and interprets trends from collected logs and raw data
- Develop analysis and reports for distribution to the Information Security Officer and to IT Management
- Coordinates data research and analysis with SIEM and security providers
- Utilize specialized software to collect and analyze logs/data
- Maintains and updates technical knowledge of industry best practices for strategy, design, and operational support for IT security
Performance Measurements:
- Daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly audits and reviews are completed on schedule
- Required reports and documentation are completed on schedule
- Problems are readily identified, reported, and resolved
- Assigned tasks and functions are completed in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
- Good working relations exist with Information Technology personnel, department managers, branch management, bank Executives, and vendors
- Participate in job specific training, various bank training programs, and comply with and all bank policies and procedures
Qualifications
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Required Knowledge:
- Training in computer hardware, software, networking, and programming, authentication, intrusion detection, firewalls, encryption, SIEM technology, and incident handling.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
- Knowledge in SQL databases
Experience Required:
- Two or more years in technical experience regarding computers, networking, data analysis, and databases
Skills/Abilities:
- Able to work well independently
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Research skills to carryout technical investigations
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Solid oral and written communications abilities
- Ability to assist and train others
