Description

At Skyworks, you’ll be part of a team that drives innovation in wireless connectivity solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative environment, impacting critical manufacturing and enterprise systems.

We’re seeking a seasoned Principal Business Systems Analyst II specializing in integration development to lead end-to-end solution design, delivery, and lifecycle management across our enterprise application ecosystem. You will partner with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to translate complex business processes into scalable integration solutions—spanning APIs, events, EDI, and data pipelines—while elevating standards for reliability, observability, security, and performance.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of business process excellence and modern integration engineering, and can drive outcomes through influence, technical depth, and structured execution.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Architecture

  • Own the integration roadmap for priority value streams (e.g., Lead-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Hire-to-Retire, Record-to-Report), aligning to enterprise architecture principles and business OKRs.
  • Define integration patterns (synchronous APIs, async events, batch ETL, B2B EDI) and reference architectures across cloud and on-prem systems.
  • Lead solution design: context diagrams, sequence flows, canonical data models, error handling, idempotency, retries, and security controls (OAuth2, mTLS, token lifecycles).

Delivery & Governance

  • Translate business requirements into integration-ready functional specs, data contracts, non-functional requirements (NFRs), and test cases.
  • Partner with engineering to ensure robust CI/CD, versioning, backward compatibility, and observability (logs, metrics, distributed tracing, DLQs).
  • Establish and enforce standards for API governance, schema management, documentation (OpenAPI/AsyncAPI), and reusable assets.

Platform & Tools

  • Drive adoption and best practices for iPaaS/API platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi, Azure Logic Apps/API Management, Kafka/Event Hub, Informatica).
  • Oversee B2B/EDI integrations (X12/EDIFACT), partner onboarding, acknowledgements (997/CONTRL), and trading partner SLAs.

Operations & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead root cause analyses and production readiness reviews; harden integrations for throughput, latency, retries, and graceful degradation.
  • Track and improve integration KPIs: success rate, mean time to detect/resolve (MTTD/MTTR), payload volumes, error taxonomies, and SLA adherence.
  • Mentor analysts and engineers; uplift documentation, test automation, and release hygiene.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Facilitate workshops with business and cross-functional technology teams; influence prioritization and trade-offs.
  • Communicate clearly across executive, business, and technical audiences; produce crisp artifacts and decision logs.

Required Experience and Skills

  • 10–14 years of experience in Business Systems Analysis or Integration Engineering, with at least 5+ years leading complex enterprise integrations.
  • Hands-on with API-first design (REST/GraphQL), event-driven patterns (pub/sub, CDC), and batch ETL.
  • Strong experience with at least one major iPaaS/API platform (e.g., MuleSoft, Azure Logic Apps/API Management), plus integration monitoring/observability.
  • Proven delivery across ERP/CRM/HCM/ITSM ecosystems (e.g., SAP/Oracle/NetSuite, Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow) and data platforms (Snowflake/Databricks preferred).
  • Solid understanding of authentication/authorization (OAuth2/OIDC, JWT), network/security (mTLS, firewalls, IP whitelisting), data privacy (PII), and compliant logging.
  • Expertise in requirements elicitation, process mapping (BPMN), data modeling, and writing integration-ready functional and non-functional specs.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and ability to lead without formal authority.

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Experience with B2B/EDI (X12/EDIFACT), VANs, AS2/AS4, and trading partner ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of canonical data models, data quality frameworks, and reference/master data alignment.
  • Exposure to microservices architectures, message brokers (Kafka/AMQP), and AsyncAPI/OpenAPI documentation.
  • Familiarity with test automation for integrations (contract testing, mock services, synthetic monitoring).
  • Background in financial operations (revenue recognition, invoicing, procure-to-pay) or HR ops (onboarding, data sync) is a plus.
  • Certifications: Azure Integration, PMI-PBA/CBAP, or TOGAF/SAFe

Key Competencies

  • Systems Thinking: Connects end-to-end business processes to technical architectures and data flows.
  • Technical Depth with Business Empathy: Can dive into payloads, error stacks, and performance metrics while maintaining business context.
  • Decision Quality: Balances speed, risk, and long-term maintainability; documents and socializes trade-offs.
  • Influence & Facilitation: Drives consensus across architecture, engineering, security, and business stakeholders.
  • Operational Excellence: Champions reliability, observability, and measurable outcomes.
