Colwen’s Senior Interior Designer is responsible for supporting the Design Manager in all aspects of the design process, from the beginning stages through final installation. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the designers, project managers, and purchasing team to oversee hospitality and multi-family projects. This includes executing CD sets in Revit, developing finish schedules, implementing design concepts from ownership, reviewing shop drawings, and managing details throughout the CA process. As part of this position, you will take the lead on multiple projects, working independently while receiving guidance and support from the Design Manager. You will play a key role in leading the junior design team through the design phases of a project, ensuring client goals and brand values are met. Success in this role hinges on exceptional time management, strong communication skills, and attention to detail.

Design Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and assisting with the drafting, modeling and CD set implementation
  • Provide documentation guidance through execution of design
  • Facilitating millwork shop drawings in Revit
  • Coordinating the finish schedules and implementing purchase requests
  • Manage multiple projects from concept through installation
  • Selecting finishes, lighting, furniture
  • Developing concept and design presentations
  • Reviewing 2D/3D Renderings for owner review
  • Creating project presentations and developing design narratives
  • Organize documentation for hotel brand approvals
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate well with vendors
  • Assist in reviewing millwork, lighting and furniture shop drawings
  • Participate and present in design reviews and charettes
  • Source new and innovative project materials

Additional Responsibilities

  • Monitor project schedules to ensure timelines are met and milestones are achieved
  • Conduct site visits as needed to oversee construction progress and verify finish installations
  • Manage project details throughout the Construction Administration (CA) phase
  • Mentor and support the growth of Interns and Junior Designers by guiding them through the design process and reviewing their work
  • Communicate with vendors and the purchasing team to gather preliminary pricing and review quotes

Qualifications

  • Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited program
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in the Interior Design industry, ideally in hospitality or multi-family specialty
  • Detail oriented, highly meticulous, passion for the industry
  • Ability to work collaboratively and positive attitude
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in Adobe and Microsoft Suites
  • Confidence to take initiative and communicate directly with our architectural and project management team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Revit experience is required

Additional information

This is a full time position in our Andover, MA location. With option for 1 remote day per week.

Core work hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Compensation

Salary Range: $100k - $120k
