Summary Description

This role provides day-to-day floor leadership and demonstrates Gorilla Glue values by setting an impeccable example in all aspects of the job.

What will your day look like?

  • Hiring, training, and directing individuals who are performing at various levels of the operation.
  • Accountable for ensuring compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, FDA as applicable).
  • Responsible for maintaining documentation and participating in audits or inspections.
  • Completes performance reviews for all direct reports, including setting objectives, conducting evaluations, and managing corrective actions, conducting regular 1:1s, and supporting development plans.
  • Responsible for identifying high-potential employees, supporting succession planning, and facilitating career development opportunities within the team.
  • Supports change initiatives, communicating changes effectively, and supporting staff through transitions (new processes, technologies, organizational changes)
  • Maintain, build, develop, and improve staff by setting clear expectations, training, monitoring, coaching, and following through on develop plans, one on one meetings.
  • Maintain a positive work environment by ensuring consistent communication, feedback, follow up and recognition.
  • Partner with all applicable support groups, including engineering and plant leadership to maintain accurate productivity standards.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and eliminate waste through leading projects of moderate complexity.
  • Assist in capacity planning regarding both equipment and processes.
  • Ensure a lean production culture is adhered to, including 5S, Kanban, Kaizen participation and leadership and sustainment.
  • Manage, measure and report on key metrics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications


What will you bring to the table?

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years in a leadership role, preferred 4 years
  • Preferred experience managing operations involving:
    • Liquid filling
    • Packaging operations
  • Demonstrated performance in continuous improvements (5S, Kaizen, process improvements, etc.).
  • Proven conflict resolution skills and leadership abilities.
  • Coaching, leading, mentoring and teaching skills, as well as the ability to learn each job and the products.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with emphasis on planning and prioritizing.
  • Goal oriented, confident, outgoing, possess a sense of urgency and ownership, and able to work well under pressure and succeed within a competitive environment.
  • Must be able to work independently and demonstrate effective initiative.
  • The ability to work as needed to cover production demands and multi-task.
  • Intermediate Computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office applications.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see and use repetitive motions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds of material, boxes, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as reading handwritten and or typed material and must have the ability to focus. Must be able to walk several hours each day, inside and outside of the building, up and down stairs, throughout the facility.
