Dematic is seeking a Strategic Buyer to join our Procurement Supply Chain Solutions team. This person will be responsible for supporting procurement activities and objectives within spares parts environment.

The Procurement Specialist / Strategic Buyer will drive the strategy of the sourcing category in North America. The individual is expected to procure direct materials for multiple categories such as: metal fabrication, electronics, motors, belts, plastics and others. This role will require the employee to be in office 3 days or more depending on the business requirements.

This is What You Will do in This Role:

• Lead cost-reduction initiatives across assigned commodities through competitive sourcing, value engineering, and supplier consolidation.
• Identify and implement sourcing solutions that optimize product quality, delivery performance, and pricing in alignment with customer service needs.
• Perform comprehensive supply base risk analyses, define and implement mitigation strategies, and provide clear updates to stakeholders.
• Lead and support new project quotation processes, coordinating pricing reviews with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and alignment
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders such as Customer Service, Finance, Pricing, Tactical Procurement, Legal, Engineering, and Manufacturing to drive effective and aligned procurement results
• Collaborate with the Category Lead to research, assess, and select suppliers; manage onboarding activities and lead Quarterly Business Reviews with strategic suppliers.
• Configure SAP sourcing parameters to ensure purchase orders are issued to the correct suppliers and executed with first-time accuracy. Forecast and record savings achieved to help meet department goal.
• Adhere to all KION procurement policies and procedures while upholding Dematic’s ethical and compliance expectations.
• Effectively coordinate with international suppliers across diverse time zones, ensuring responsiveness and urgency.
• Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English.
• Leverage data-driven insights and utilize analytics tools to generate, track, and report key performance metrics.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What We are Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• +3 years of experience in Direct Procurement / Commodities executing sourcing activities (sourcing 5 steps methodology, RFQs, TCOs)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience using SAP
• APICSs certification in CPIM Preferred
• Understands and interprets CAD drawings
