Job Description:

Experience with cost management and optimization tools in AWS and Azure.

  • Key Responsibilities and Scope

  • Cloud Strategy & Governance: Define the long-term cloud vision, roadmap, and reference architectures across multi-cloud environments (AWS & Azure). Lead enterprise-wide cloud adoption and transformation strategies, setting and enforcing architecture standards, governance, and compliance policies.
  • Architecture Leadership & Innovation: Act as the highest-level technical authority for designing and implementing secure, scalable, highly available, and resilient cloud ecosystems. Solve the most unique and complex problems with a broad, cross-functional impact, often requiring significant departures from traditional approaches.
  • Deep Cloud Engineering & Optimization: Provide mastery-level expertise in core and advanced AWS and Azure services (e.g., EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, VMs, Blob, VNet, Azure AD, SQL DB, Functions, AKS).
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Architect and optimize enterprise-grade Terraform and other IaC frameworks (CloudFormation, ARM templates) for scalable, secure infrastructure automation.
    • Automation: Drive automation strategy, establishing new processes and technologies to enhance performance, reliability, and security for provisioning, config management (Ansible), and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, Azure DevOps).
  • Cost & Performance Management: Drive multi-million dollar cost optimization initiatives by designing and implementing advanced cost-saving strategies, overseeing vendor negotiations, and managing cloud licensing models—lead capacity planning and performance optimization for critical, high-scale systems.
  • Security & Compliance: Develop and enforce stringent cloud security and compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001) at an organizational level. Provide expert guidance on IAM, network security, encryption, and audit processes.
  • Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Architect and oversee the execution of enterprise-level Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning (DR/BCP) for the entire cloud footprint.
  • Qualifications

  • Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years of experience; or equivalent expertise. 8+ years specifically designing, implementing, and managing multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS & Azure).
  • Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Broad expertise or unique knowledge across complex, high-scale multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
    • Expertise in strategic scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for platform-level automation.
    • Deep understanding of enterprise architecture modeling and governance.
    • Mastery of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and large-scale Terraform codebase management.
  • Soft Skills & Leadership: Proven track record of visionary leadership, strategic planning, and executive communication. Demonstrated ability to influence, drive consensus, and lead large, cross-functional technical programs.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications: AWS Solutions Architect Professional (AWS SA Pro), AWS DevOps Professional, Azure Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
  • Advanced Technologies: Mastery in Containers (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS/AKS), Serverless (Lambda, Azure Functions), Cloud Databases (Aurora, Cosmos DB), and advanced cloud networking services.
  • Expertise in Systems: Deep, hands-on administrative and design expertise in Virtualization (VMware/vCenter lifecycle management, upgrades, and large-scale migration strategies) and diverse Operating Systems (Windows, RHEL, Linux).
  • Mentorship & Influence: Act independently to determine methods and procedures for new or special assignments. Create formal networks and coordinate among multiple groups. Provide executive-level guidance and technical mentorship to other architects, engineers, and technical leadership. Influence senior stakeholders and deliver briefings to align cloud strategies with business outcomes.
