Core Responsibilities
This role blends traditional financial controller activities with strategic project responsibilities, requiring adaptability, strong soft skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring supporting explanations are complete, outstanding balances are followed up on, and corrective actions are taken.
- Take ownership of internal and external reporting, including audit requirements.
- Approve journal entries, ensuring consistency, completeness, correct coding, classification, and alignment with local accounting standards.
- Perform variance analyses to ensure financials remain accurate and free from probable errors or misstatements.
- Support statutory audits, tax audits, and other financial reviews.
- Ensure compliance with local statutory reporting rules and tax requirements, leading communications with external and internal auditors.
- Prepare, review, and submit government reports and ad hoc financial information requests.
- Build and strengthen partnerships across geographies and departments, fostering teamwork and a collaborative culture.
This is a temporary 18-month position as part of a strategic GL project. The role is based in Prague -Jinonice, relocation assistance is not provided.

The LEGO Business Service Operations (BSO) is a shared service center delivering HR and Finance services across the LEGO Group from Monterrey, Prague, and Singapore. The General Ledger (GL) department plays a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality financial processes and meaningful collaboration across the organization.
Do you have what it takes ?
- Proven experience in General Ledger and Controlling.
- Solid experience in an international accounting environment.
- Extensive experience leading projects in a dynamic setting, including change management initiatives.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and committed to quality.
- Proactive, curious, and eager to take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
