The HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This role involves diagnosing system issues, performing routine maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety codes and regulations, and recommending energy-efficient solutions to clients. The position requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering reliable, code-compliant, and cost-effective service.

This position will report to sites in Northwest Florida.

Responsibilities
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties, but not all duties performed for this position. Other duties may be assigned.
• Install HVAC systems, including heating units, air conditioning units, ducts, thermostats, and refrigeration equipment.
• Ensure proper functioning of HVAC systems by testing and inspecting equipment after installation.
• Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure efficiency, safety, and optimal performance.
• Clean or replace filters, check refrigerant levels, calibrate thermostats, and lubricate moving parts.
• Inspect HVAC systems for signs of wear and tear, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system problems, including electrical issues, refrigerant leaks, or mechanical failures.
• Repair or replace faulty components such as compressors, fans, pumps, or thermostats.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective repairs while minimizing downtime for the customer.
• Advise customers on system upgrades and energy-efficient alternatives for improving system performance.
• Install and configure energy-efficient HVAC systems and smart thermostats.
• Ensure all work meets local, state, and federal regulations, including building codes and safety standards.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety protocols and wearing proper protective equipment.
• Handle refrigerants and other hazardous materials in compliance with environmental and safety laws.

Minimum Qualifications
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience
• Must have knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment
• EPA Certification
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical wiring, refrigeration cycles, and tools used in the trade.
• Knowledge of Codes & Regulations: Understanding and adhering to relevant building codes and safety regulations
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and find effective solutions quickly.
• Precision in installation, maintenance, and repairs to ensure systems function efficiently and safely.
• Strong communication skills to interact with customers and explain complex issues in simple terms.

Preferred Qualifications
• The ability to measure and draw duct is a plus

This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, climbing stairs, ladders or staging, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to: hard hats, steel toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.

Working Environment
Job is performed in outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
