We are seeking a highly experienced Contracts Manager to join our Transport and Infrastructure business unit in Jeddah. This role will be based on a major infrastructure construction supervision project and will involve managing contractual, commercial, and claims-related matters across a broad range of infrastructure works, including roads, utilities, water networks, landscaping, and street lighting.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in safeguarding the Client’s commercial interests, ensuring contractual compliance, and supporting the successful delivery of the project in accordance with contract terms.

Contract & Commercial Management

  • Administer and manage construction contracts in accordance with the applicable conditions of contract (e.g. FIDIC or similar).
  • Provide contractual advice to the project team and Client on rights, obligations, and risk exposure.
  • Ensure full compliance with contract terms, conditions, and procedures throughout the construction phase.
  • Lead the preparation, review, and administration of contract correspondence, notices, and formal communications.

Claims, Variations & Change Management

  • Manage contractor claims, variations, extensions of time (EOTs), and compensation events.
  • Assess entitlement, prepare recommendations, and support negotiations and determinations in line with the contract.
  • Maintain accurate records of change management, instructions, and commercial impacts.
  • Support dispute avoidance and resolution processes, including negotiations and claim settlements.

Cost Control & Payment Certification

  • Review contractor interim payment applications and certify payments in coordination with the supervision team.
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow to ensure financial control.
  • Advise on cost implications arising from design changes, site conditions, or construction methodologies.

Construction Supervision Support

  • Work closely with resident engineers, discipline leads, and site supervision teams to ensure contractual alignment with construction progress.
  • Support the evaluation of contractor submissions, including method statements and programmes, from a contractual perspective.
  • Attend progress meetings, commercial meetings, and coordination sessions with the Client and contractors.
  • Prepare monthly commercial reports, claims status updates, and contract performance summaries.
  • Maintain comprehensive contract records, logs, and registers in accordance with project and Client requirements.
  • Ensure proper close-out of contractual and commercial matters at project completion.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 18 years of professional experience, preferably on large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Support the evaluation of contractor submissions, including method statements and programmes, from a contractual perspective.
  • Attend progress meetings, commercial meetings, and coordination sessions with the Client and contractors.
  • Prepare monthly commercial reports, claims status updates, and contract performance summaries.
  • Maintain comprehensive contract records, logs, and registers in accordance with project and Client requirements.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Proven experience working on construction supervision projects for roads, utilities, water networks, landscaping, and street lighting.
  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC-based contracts and construction contract administration.
  • Demonstrated experience managing claims, variations, EOTs, and commercial negotiations.
  • Experience working in Saudi Arabia is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage complex contractual issues.
