Job Responsibilities:

• Design and develop new software
• Maintain and enhance existing software
• Analyse software requirements
• Write and perform unit and acceptance testing
• Undertake peer code reviews
• Identify product impact and possible implementation options
• Hands-on development in an agile environment
• Test and review code for technical accuracy, standards, and functional compliance to the design
• Performance and scalability improvement and refactoring of legacy code
• Work within deadlines in relation to product release timelines, and consistently complete assigned development tasks in required timeframes
• Daily reporting of development activities
• Work with the team to define and agree estimates
• Follow defined software development processes and standards
• Produce/update associated design documentation
• Responsibly follow planned and assigned task lists
• Actively seek to improve skills.

Job Qualifications:Essential:

• Experience in software application development
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming
• Knowledge of Full-Stack, modern software development using Visual Studio / VSCode orsimilar

Expertise In The Following:

• At least two years; of practical, commercial experience in PHP / Laravel
• Ability to develop software within agreed timescales
• Good team working skills
• MySQL
• JavaScript (including ES6+)
• Git

Desirable:

• Software engineering or science related degree or equivalent qualification
• Knowledge of SaaS / Cloud infrastructures
• Practical experience in producing technical documentation
• Agile/Scrum development process exposure
• Understanding of modern Single Page Applications, especially vue.js

A Good Working Knowledge Of:

• Net Core / C# / ASP.NET
• Unit Test Frameworks and Mocking Frameworks
• Node.js
• NoSQL, especially MongoDB
• Some knowledge of containerisation, especially Docker
