Product Owner (MCT)

Vault Cloud is the national leader of providing highly secure and scalable sovereign cloud capability to the Australian Government, National Intelligence Community and Critical Infrastructure sector. As we continue to lead in technological advancements, Vault is now entering a defining phase of growth with a strategic $22.5 million investment from the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation (NRFC). This investment will scale Vault's SECRET Cloud and introduce new services such as the AUKUS cloud capability, directly addressing Australia's strategic national security demands. Vault is now positioned to not only strengthen its existing relationships with federal and state government agencies, but also strengthen its relationships with private sector businesses requiring secure cloud storage. We are seeking a Product Owner to join our Mission Critical Tools (MCT) Delivery Team. This pivotal role is open to applicants Australia-wide and offers the chance to lead groundbreaking work in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

You will operate at the forefront of cloud innovation, leveraging open-source technologies and our OpenStack platform, leading the delivery of tools that safeguard Australia’s most critical data. You will champion agile, design thinking, and DevOps practices within a world-class, collaborative team. This full-time position represents a career-defining opportunity to step into a key leadership position and make a profound, lasting impact.

You Will Be Responsible For:

• Defining product goals, shaping the roadmap, and maintaining a clear, prioritised backlog.
• Developing and executing delivery plans across multiple releases.
• Leading sprint planning, backlog refinement, and prioritisation with your Scrum team.
• Ensuring development aligns with frameworks, compliance, and business requirements.
• Driving product quality by embedding testing strategies and customer feedback.
• Leading a cross-functional team to build, enhance, and maintain Mission Critical Tools (MCT) with a focus on reliability, cost efficiency, security, and performance.

To be successful you will be able to demonstrate with:

• Strong project and product delivery experience driving mission-critical toolsets in fast-paced environments.
• Proven expertise in areas such as SIEM and logging systems, SDLC, IaC, identity management, and virtual desktop builds.
• Hands-on experience leading and working in Scrum or cross-functional Agile environments.
• Ability to influence, lead, and inspire technical cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated capability to balance diverse stakeholder needs and manage expectations at multiple levels.
• An analytical, adaptable, and innovative problem-solving mindset.
