As a global leader, indie's photonics team specializes in developing advanced optical systems and components that drive progress across various industries—from material processing, quantum technologies, LiDAR, navigation, sensing, and imaging, to augmented reality and medical applications.
To reinforce our R&D and small-series production activities at our site in Ecublens, near Lausanne, we are currently looking for a talented engineer with a strong problem-solving attitude who will contribute to the development of new optoelectronic components (visible light sources) based on III-nitride semiconductor materials.
Area of activity: testing of optoelectronic components, data analysis, III-V semiconductors, development of high-tech products.
Start date: April 1st, 2026 or to be agreed
Key Responsibilities:
- Take the lead on electro-optical characterization tools/laboratory and related LabVIEW software.
- Perform routine characterization of optoelectronic components and reporting.
- Perform statistical data analysis and draw consistent conclusions, including reporting.
- Design and implement new electro-optical characterization experiments with the objective of continuous product improvement.
- Failure analysis and validation of device design changes.
- Physical comprehension: simulate physical phenomena related to specific device behaviors and compare with measurements.
- Contribute to semiconductor chip packaging activities.
Requirements:
- Technical degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Microengineering or related field.
- Good knowledge of laser diodes physics and working principles. Knowledge of typical LD manufacturing processes is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in the field of semiconductor-related products and the corresponding electro-optical characterization would be a strong advantage.
- Experienced with the LabVIEW environment and able to implement automation solutions.
- Familiar with large data set analysis.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English.
