Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 3 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
- 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Experience with distributed systems and cloud technologies.
- Ability to lead teams in delivering high-quality software products at scale.

With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.
Hyperdisk and Persistent Disk (PD) are Google’s virtual block storage offerings and a foundational building block for Cloud workloads, from high-end databases to large ML workloads. The product space is rapidly evolving, driving fundamentally new technical and product solutions to meet shifting scale, cost, and performance requirements. The PD Hyperdisk Throughput (HdT) team is responsible for more than half of PD's bytes in production, supporting some of Google Cloud Platform’s (GCP) biggest customers in meeting their performance and capacity requirements.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and career development.
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Address technical issues related to performance, scalability, concurrency, and reliability in a large-scale distributed database system.
- Collaborate closely with other cross-functional teams, and Product Management to deliver a seamless product.
- Contribute to direct development, code reviews, and design reviews.
