Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Data Engineer Intern to join our data team. This role offers hands-on experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and modern data warehouse technologies. You'll work on real-world projects while developing foundational skills in data engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, building, and maintaining ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
- Work with APIs to integrate data from external systems and third-party services.
- Support data modeling and schema design in Snowflake and/or relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)
- Write SQL queries to transform and validate data for analytics and reporting.
- Collaborate with data analysts and engineers to understand data requirements.
- Help monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues.
- Document data processes, workflows, and technical specifications.
- Participate in code reviews and learn best practices for data engineering.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Basic understanding of SQL and relational database concepts
- Familiarity with at least one programming language (Python preferred)
- Understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, SQL Server, Big Query)
- Experience working with APIs and data integration.
- Knowledge of ETL tools or frameworks
- Understanding data modeling concepts (star schema, normalization)
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
- Coursework or projects involving data pipelines or databases.

RequirementsMinimum Job Qualifications:
- An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science, informational technology, management information systems or related field is required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
