Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Data Engineer Intern to join our data team. This role offers hands-on experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and modern data warehouse technologies. You'll work on real-world projects while developing foundational skills in data engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, building, and maintaining ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
• Work with APIs to integrate data from external systems and third-party services.
• Support data modeling and schema design in Snowflake and/or relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)
• Write SQL queries to transform and validate data for analytics and reporting.
• Collaborate with data analysts and engineers to understand data requirements.
• Help monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues.
• Document data processes, workflows, and technical specifications.
• Participate in code reviews and learn best practices for data engineering.

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Basic understanding of SQL and relational database concepts
• Familiarity with at least one programming language (Python preferred)
• Understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, SQL Server, Big Query)
• Experience working with APIs and data integration.
• Knowledge of ETL tools or frameworks
• Understanding data modeling concepts (star schema, normalization)
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
• Coursework or projects involving data pipelines or databases.

Requirements

Minimum Job Qualifications:

• An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science, informational technology, management information systems or related field is required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
