Job SummarySubstation Project Coordinator II supports and assists utility substation department work. This position is responsible for project administrative documentation and material coordination of substation projects. This role verifies asset management records are accurately updated and submits manual project closing reports.
What you will do
- Prepares, reconciles, and closes project related documentation.
- Tracks and reports various work-related functions within multiple software systems.
- Participates on project teams and helps ensure project objectives are achieved and customer needs are met.
- Helps to resolve project material supply issues and shortages.
- Coordinates return of unused project material and replacement or repair of defective components.
- Assists with documentation and processes to comply with regulatory compliance requirements.
- Coordinates with sub-contractors and vendors.
- Enters material requisitions, issues purchase orders and pays project related expenses.
- Tracks and updates financial projections on small capital and retirement projects.
- Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
- Associate Degree Preferred
Required Experience
- 2 years of technical and/or professional experience.
Other Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Travel can include occasional overnight stays.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to understand utility construction equipment, project management, and material procurement processes.
- Knowledge of project management methods. Good financial analysis knowledge.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, project management, PO System, Google Earth, GIS, Cascade, ECPD, STORMS, etc. ).
- Excellent organizational skills, data storage and retention capabilities, provide project progress updates.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of materials and equipment.
- Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
- Ability to work outdoors with field crews and contractors.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Pay Range:
$22.00 - $25.00This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
