2nd Shift Production Supervisor, SWG

Vertiv is seeking an experienced and driven Production Supervisor to support our Switchgear manufacturing operations in Anderson, SC. This role is a critical leadership position within a complex, fast-paced manufacturing environment supporting the build of custom and engineered switchgear solutions for data centers, utilities, and critical infrastructure customers.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor will lead multiple production teams across rotating shifts, with accountability for safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational excellence, developing frontline leaders, and ensuring production targets are achieved while meeting Vertiv’s safety, quality, and customer commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise production teams within the Switchgear department, ensuring safe and efficient execution of daily manufacturing activities.
• Drive Total Production Efficiency (TPE) through effective workforce planning, standard work, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee production operations including fabrication, assembly, wiring, machining, powder coat, feeder processes, and material flow as applicable to switchgear manufacturing.
• Manage performance across three rotating shifts, ensuring consistent output, quality, and adherence to schedule.
• Partner closely with Production Managers, Schedulers, Team Leaders, Project Engineers, Quality, Logistics, and Stores to meet build schedules and on-time shipment commitments.
• Monitor and analyze key operational KPIs (safety, quality, delivery, productivity, scrap, rework) and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Lead and support employee relations activities including coaching, performance management, disciplinary actions, and return-to-work meetings.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and promote a strong safety-first culture.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of production employees and frontline leaders.
• Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage production control, labor tracking, and material coordination.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical or Electrical technical qualification or equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience.
• Experience working in a high-mix, low-to-medium volume or engineered-to-order manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs and performance management.
• Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced production setting with multiple priorities.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
• 7+ years of senior supervision or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience supporting switchgear, electrical equipment, or complex assembly operations.
• Experience launching or scaling high-volume production lines.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, 5S, Kaizen).
• Standard manufacturing environment.
