MealSuite, an Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Company, is a privately owned SaaS organization comprising 190+ team members across the globe, with hub locations in Cambridge, ON, Canada, Dallas, TX, USA, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Our suite of end-to-end foodservice technology solutions helps professionals across healthcare and aging services streamline their operations, save time, reduce food waste, and meet regulatory requirements, so they can focus on what matters most: improving the quality of patient and resident care.

We are looking for a Test Architect to address a critical gap in establishing a unified, scalable, and efficient testing strategy across projects. Currently, testing efforts are fragmented, which increases risk, slows delivery, and limits automation adoption. This role will provide a high-level, strategic approach by defining the testing methodology, selecting appropriate tools, and building a robust automation framework that integrates seamlessly throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), ensure consistent technical standards, improve test coverage, and accelerate release cycles while maintaining quality. The Test Architect will enable a shift from reactive testing to proactive quality engineering, reducing defects, enhancing scalability, and supporting business goals for reliable, high-performing software solutions through automation.

A day in the life as a Test Architect:

  • Test strategy & standards ownership: Define and own a risk-based, shift-left testing strategy; establish quality gates, test levels, and clear definitions of done across squads.
  • CI/CD integration: Embed automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines; define pass/fail criteria, flaky-test quarantine policies, and artifact publishing (reports, logs, screenshots).
  • Test data & environments: Design and maintain strategies for synthetic and seeded test data; oversee environment provisioning, versioning, and configuration management.
  • Non-functional testing: Implement automated performance, reliability, and baseline security/vulnerability testing with centralized dashboards.
  • Observability & reporting: Define and track quality metrics (coverage, defect escape rate, MTTR/MTTD, pipeline pass rate) and publish dashboards to support release readiness decisions.
  • Tooling governance: Evaluate, select, and govern test management and automation tools; drive integrations with issue tracking and requirements systems.
  • Platform coverage: Ensure comprehensive cross-platform test strategies for web, mobile (Android/iOS), and hardware-adjacent Point of Sale scenarios, including peripherals and connectivity.
  • Enablement & coaching: Mentor QA and engineering teams through guilds, automation code reviews, and training on testing standards and best practices.
  • Continuous improvement: Identify quality and delivery bottlenecks, propose process improvements, and lead pilots to increase speed and reliability while managing risk.

If the below describe your knowledge, experience and character, this role could be for you:

  • Modern QA & SDLC expertise: Strong command of contemporary QA and SDLC practices, including risk-based testing, shift-left strategies, and TDD/BDD.
  • Automation-first mindset: Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and scaling automation frameworks for API, UI, and mobile testing.
  • Test architecture proficiency: Practical experience with test doubles, contract testing, and test design patterns such as Page Object and Screen Object models.
  • Test management & traceability: Proven experience using Xray integrated with Jira for test planning, coverage, and reporting.
  • API testing depth: Solid background in API testing with tools and frameworks such as Postman and RSpec.
  • Mobile & cross-platform testing: Applied Playwright, AccelQ, and Selenium-based patterns to Android and iOS testing scenarios.
  • Systems thinking: Ability to view and optimize the full SDLC, improving end-to-end flow rather than local optimizations.
  • Influence & alignment: Effective at influencing without formal authority by setting standards and driving adoption across multiple squads.
  • Pragmatic delivery focus: Outcome-oriented, balancing ideal architecture with real-world delivery constraints and prioritizing automation that delivers measurable value.
  • Clear communication: Comfortable authoring standards and presenting dashboards, insights, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mentorship & enablement: Acts as a mentor and force multiplier, raising team capability through coaching, reviews, and enablement.
  • Quality rigor & resilience: Detail-driven and resilient, with experience tracking quality metrics, managing flaky tests, and continuously improving reliability.
  • Security & risk awareness: Treats security, performance, and reliability as first-class quality attributes throughout the testing lifecycle.

We know imposter syndrome can be REAL when applying for a new role, but please don't let the confidence gap prevent you from taking a leap and applying for your dream job. Your future self will thank you!
