Senior Quantity Surveyor

The Opportunity

• Reporting to the Regional Estimating Manager, the Senior Quantity Surveyor is primarily accountable for the successful delivery of accurate and complete BoQ’s, MTO’s and Pricing Schedules. This is an exciting time at Downer working within our Energy & Utilities BU for multiple Water Programs/Projects (Projects with revenue between $1M to $250M.).

What You’Ll Do

• Work closely with and assist project teams throughout the tender period, developing project scope, controls, budgets, scheduling and procurement to ensure compliance to the Downer Standard are achieved
• Diligent procurement and subcontractor management to achieve required buying gains and targeted margin.
• Ensure external sub-contract quotations are sourced & managed in accordance with the system, including RFQ documentation and accompanying Commercial Terms;

What we’re looking for

• Tertiary Degree, Diploma or equivalent in: Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Commercial Management or similar
• Contract administration skills including full subcontract procurement & management., communication and dispute management;
• An understanding of the relevant Occupation Health and Safety Act, regulations and legislation as applied to the civil industry 
• Team player; highly organised and able to plan/schedule all commercial aspects of the works to meet required deadlines
