Day to day, you’ll build and improve the data and analytics solutions that power Deloitte’s Audit & Assurance platform. You’ll work hands-on with large, complex datasets—shaping, modelling and transforming data so it’s ready for high-impact audit and finance use cases. Your work will be used by thousands of people across Australia and Asia Pacific, giving you real scale and visibility.
You’ll collaborate with architects, analysts and engineers to turn real business and regulatory needs into reliable data pipelines and Python-based analytics apps. Along the way, you’ll help modernise our ETL workflows, support smooth releases through CI/CD, and share your knowledge with junior team members—while continuing to grow your own skills.
About The Team
The Audit & Assurance (A&A) Data & Digital team sits at the heart of Deloitte’s Asset Transformation Strategy across Asia Pacific. We’re a diverse, multidisciplinary group of data engineers, designers, developers and consultants, united by a shared mission: delivering next-generation solutions through our proprietary Big Data Platform.
Our platform processes billions of records across hundreds of solutions and supports thousands of clients and engagements. It’s a fast-paced, collaborative environment where engineering excellence, innovation and real-world impact go hand in hand.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you.
You may have all or some of the following skills / experiences:
- 2–4+ years’ experience as a Data Engineer or Data Product Engineer, ideally in consulting or complex, multi-system environments
- Strong Python skills for data wrangling and analytics (e.g. Pandas, Polars, PySpark)
- Confident working with SQL and tuning queries for performance (e.g. Azure SQL, Postgres, DuckDB)
- Hands-on experience building and running ETL/ELT pipelines, using modern data integration tools or custom Python solutions
- Comfortable working with large, complex datasets, including modelling, mapping and data quality checks
- Experience building Python-based analytics or reporting apps, and supporting APIs or backend services
- Familiar with CI/CD ways of working and common tooling
- A collaborative communicator who enjoys working with engineers, analysts and architects
- Self-driven and adaptable, with a genuine interest in learning and improving
- Bonus points for exposure to Docker, Power BI/Tableau, Databricks or AI-powered developer tools—but these aren’t essential.
