Product Manager - Dataflow Events
Introduction
Dataflow Events Limited is a delegate management and event ticketing platform that supports event organisers in delivering end-to-end attendee experiences from registration and onboarding to onsite access control and post-event insight. This role ensures Dataflow continues to evolve, remain competitive and deliver measurable value to organisers and guests.
Position Summary
The Product Manager for Dataflow Events is responsible for shaping, developing and guiding the lifecycle of Dataflow products so they align with strategic goals, commercial priorities and operational realities. The role blends strategic planning, detailed product ownership, technical understanding and close collaboration with stakeholders across R&D, project management, commercial functions and client facing teams. It requires a deep appreciation of event technology, strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to turn customer problems into valuable product outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy And Vision
- Build and maintain a clear product vision supported by transparent product and release backlogs.
- Translate business strategy and customer needs into outcome focused stories for development teams.
- Maintain and present roadmaps with justification for prioritisation and scope.
- Monitor the event technology landscape to identify opportunities, competitor movements and potential product gaps.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a central coordinator ensuring timely involvement of R&D, sales, project management, marketing and senior leadership.
- Build strong internal and external relationships, creating feedback loops, user groups and structured input into refinement and planning.
- Provide subject matter insight into Dataflow solutions for colleagues, clients and group level stakeholders.
Product Ownership And Delivery
- Serve as Product Owner across Dataflow development work.
- Lead refinement, sprint planning, sprint goals, backlog prioritisation and sprint reviews.
- Ensure development teams follow agile methodology with a focus on measurable outcomes.
- Coordinate with scrum teams to test feasibility, run experiments, validate assumptions and reduce delivery risk.
- Manage quality assurance processes including testing methodologies, defect management, automated testing approaches and QA resource oversight.
Operational Alignment
- Ensure operational teams are equipped and trained to support new product capabilities including commissioning and data migration.
- Provide clarity in product specifications using flows, wireframes and mockups.
- Maintain registers of ideas, enhancements, feedback and defects with thoughtful prioritisation.
- Act as consultant on complex data queries and technical considerations when required.
Reporting And Governance
- Produce weekly narrative updates, contribute to quarterly updates and provide sprint by sprint reporting.
- Work with sales and senior leadership on cost benefit work, deployment of development resources and understanding financial implications of product decisions.
- Support due diligence on technology partners and suppliers where required.
Required Skills And Experience
- Demonstrable experience in product management or product ownership within software or event technology.
- Strong understanding of agile, lean and design thinking principles.
- Evidence of analysing and documenting complex business processes.
- Experience writing user stories, building roadmaps and planning releases.
- Confident working with SQL and capable of handling moderately complex queries.
- Familiarity with testing methodologies including unit, integration, regression and smoke testing.
- Ability to communicate clearly through documentation, visual design and structured reasoning.
- Working knowledge of mobile app stacks, reusable technical components and analytics tools such as Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics.
- Skilled in Microsoft DevOps or equivalent tooling for work management.
- Sector familiarity in events, education or payments is advantageous.
