Key Objectives / Measures
- Subject Matter Expertise: Demonstrates solid legal and compliance expertise with a working understanding of Oracle’s business operations and priorities. Effectively identifies and resolves both routine and complex legal and compliance matters. Provides accurate, timely, and practical guidance aligned with Oracle’s global standards and local regulatory requirements.
- Integrity and Compliance: Promotes Oracle’s culture of integrity and ethical business conduct. Identifies potential compliance risks early, ensures alignment with Oracle’s policies and applicable laws.
- Effective Advocacy, Negotiation and Communication Skills: Applies strong analytical and communication skills to advocate Oracle’s position persuasively. Anticipates potential counterarguments and proactively addresses them. Ensures all communications are clear, business-focused, and consistent with Oracle policy.
- Decision Making and an Ability to Work Independently: Exercises sound judgment in managing day-to-day legal or compliance issues. Demonstrates the ability to assess risk, propose balanced solutions, and escalate appropriately when necessary.
- Partnership with Internal Client and Collaboration: Builds trusted relationships with internal stakeholders by understanding business strategies, products, and operating models. Partners with cross-functional teams to deliver legally sound and commercially practical solutions that enable business growth while maintaining compliance.
- Knowledge Management and Continuous Learning: Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by sharing learnings, tools, and best practices across the team. Seeks opportunities to enhance technical and legal knowledge to support evolving business needs.
2. Responsibilities
2.1. Compliance Case Management Functions
- Manage and support internal compliance cases from initiation to closure, including fact-finding, interviews, evidence review, and final reporting to decision-makers.
- Support implementing disciplinary or remedial actions for employees and partners based on investigation outcomes and ensure decisions are effectively executed within Korea.
- Conduct legal and market research on Korean compliance practices, public-sector procurement norms, and regulatory enforcement trends.
- Review, draft, and finalize investigation reports; summarize findings and recommendations for senior management and global stakeholders.
- Coordinate with external counsel, HR, and regional C&E teams to ensure consistency and procedural fairness in handling compliance cases.
- Manage post-investigation processes, including labor disputes, partner disputes, and proceedings before regulators such as the KFTC, Fair Trade Mediation Agency, Labor Commissions, and courts (civil, administrative, criminal).
- Provide strategic input and recommendations for systemic improvements in Oracle Korea’s compliance framework.
2.2. Regulatory and Compliance Operations
- Handle both routine and non-routine regulatory inquiries and investigations by authorities (KFTC, Prosecutors’ Office, Police, Korea Internet & Security Agency, Korea Communications Commission, Personal Information Protection Commission, etc.).
- Manage disputes and litigation involving partners and employees, including labor-related and administrative proceedings.
- Conduct regular compliance trainings (at least twice annually) tailored by business area, and deliver specialized sessions for partners.
- Monitor and research changes in key regulatory areas such as privacy, AI, cloud computing, and data security; share insights and updates with the broader Legal organization, when needed.
- Support policy enhancement and procedural improvements based on investigation learnings and evolving legal standards.
- Promote knowledge sharing and learning within the compliance team and across business units.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of ethical business conduct and proactive compliance risk management.
2.3. General Legal Functions
- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements.
- Review approval request on deal structures and commercial terms & conditions to ensure alignment with Oracle policies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business, finance, HR and operations to provide timely, balanced solutions and maintain organized matter tracking.

- Advise on legal and regulatory issues including, without limitation, general commercial, anti-corruption, privacy, cloud, anti-trust/competition, etc.
Minimum Job Requirements
- 2 ~ 5 years of relevant experience in compliance (in-house at a multinational) or at a reputable Korean law firm;
- Experience with compliance investigations, training, dispute handling, and disciplinary/labor matters (e.g., disciplinary committees, Labor Commissions) is preferred.
- Antitrust / fair-trade background preferred; experience handling KFTC`s on-site investigations, routine investigations and Fair Trade Mediation Agency`s mediation is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with technology-sector compliance (e.g., cloud/AI/data); experience in tech industry is a plus.
- Commercial contracting exposure (licensing, hardware, cloud, SaaS) is a plus;
Responsible for providing legal advice to the organization. Close liaison to business in providing a variety of corporate and commercial legal services. May perform litigation on Oracle's behalf or coordinates litigation and other legal, administrative or investigative actions handled by outside counsel. May draft, review, and negotiate major and/or non-standard technology contracts with public and private sector customers, including licensing agreements, professional services agreements, and cloud services agreements. May advise on legal issues involving government and regulatory compliance. Responds to ad hoc queries to include identification, analysis, and evaluation of risks in order to provide appropriate legal solutions. Works closely with other lawyers throughout Oracle and coordinates legal matters handled by outside lawyers. Demonstrates intermediate level general commercial or functional knowledge across a sub discipline within the individual's specialty area(s), (e.g., general corporate law, antitrust/competition law, securities compliance and regulatory, employment law, immigration law, cloud transactions, data privacy, risk management asset-backed financing, contract management, intellectual property, trade secrets, advertising law, registration and other resolutions specific to the computer and technology industry)
