Digital solutions are key to supporting our customers manage their fleets, order the necessary products or subscribe to services, while seamlessly getting invoices, rebates, transactions and reconciling everything.
We are recruiting a Product Manager – Services On The Road reporting to the Head of Services On The Road. As a member of the Central SOTR team you will work with IT, IDT, SOM and other Shell Fleet Solutions stakeholders.
Your role in this position will ensure a world class integrated customer experience across different SOTR products such as Tolling, Card Acceptance for Non-Fuel services, VAT and Excise Duty Recovery and other road services. What Is The Role:
The SOTR team is responsible for the largest non-fuel income within Shell Fleet Solutions with an ambition to reach 100M USD C4+ in the upcoming years. The Product Manager – SOTR is a key position in the team who connects business needs with Information Technology and Data.
- The successful candidate will own the digital end-to-end customer experience, define the digital vision ensuring strategic alignment with business goals and partner with IDT to prioritise the annual investments.
- With a strong focus on cost-effectiveness and value creation, they will be responsible for planning, prioritizing, and delivering the business development pipeline and technology roadmaps.
- This role requires taking product ownership of all SOTR Digital Products such as eTollManager, Shell Fleet Hub SOTR modules and any SOTR, third party services, integrations with File Transfer, Global Fleet Net (GFN), Business Intelligence (SFSBI), Fuel Card Authorization Platforms (Desiato, CFGW), Microservices and APIs.
- The Product Manager might also act as business opportunity manager (BOM) role to lead full CVP development and deployment of certain local solutions as assigned by Head of SOTR.
The Product Manager’s principal accountabilities span across the following areas:
Business Development Pipeline
- Gather and maintain CVPs from Central SOTR, Integrated Platforms, and local teams.
- Provide technical input to define CVP building blocks, assess compliance, and escalate exceptions to OSF with clear step-in plans.
- Support IRA evaluations to mitigate IT risks.
- Add qualified items to backlog for prioritization and execution.
- Estimate CAPEX/OPEX, calculate incremental value, and prepare business cases and investment proposals for funding.
- Measure CVP performance post-delivery and use insights to drive continuous improvement.
Customer Insights & Demand Management
- Monitor feedback via CSI and Incident Management platforms.
- Collect input from Customer Operations, local markets, and technology teams for enhancements and new ideas.
- Collaborate with Delivery Manager and technical leads to address technical debt and process improvements.
- Assess value, estimate costs, and categorize demands into strategic buckets (growth, CSI, efficiency, asset integrity).
- Validate and add demands to backlog for execution.
Roadmap & Backlog
- Develop and maintain a roadmap aligned with business strategy and goals.
- Monitor budgets and capacity; adjust quarterly.
- Prioritize backlog and define product vision and sprint objectives for Scrum teams.
- Communicate roadmap changes and delays to stakeholders.
Discovery & Design
- Engage users to clarify requirements and expected behaviors.
- Map customer journeys, define personas, and create actionable user stories.
- Review UX prototypes and approve designs for development.
Development & Delivery
- Define acceptance criteria and approve PBIs.
- Coordinate integration testing and resolve functional bottlenecks.
- Schedule releases, perform UAT, and approve deployments.
- Partner with SRE and SOM teams to triage incidents and escalate critical issues.
- Partner with third-party vendors and integrators to design SLAs and support structures.
Product Communication
- Create user manuals and knowledge articles; monitor digital adoption.
- Collaborate on change programs to enhance user experience.
- Represent SOTR in governance forums and community sessions.
- Manage internal/external communications, including newsletters and social media updates.
Digital Governance
- Act as BAO to ensure compliance with governance controls (BCP, UAM, data retention, DR, backups).
- Conduct periodic reviews and attest compliance.
Business Opportunity Management
- Lead end-to-end launch of new CVPs, managing RFPs, vendor contracts, pricing, integration, and training through Internal assurance (PAC) process.
