Product Manager
Spacetalk.com
Office
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
Full Time
Spacetalk is an ASX-listed Australian technology company building safe, connected products for families. Our ecosystem spans hardware, mobile services and software, designed to help parents stay connected with their children while prioritising safety, reliability and trust.
We operate in a complex, real-world environment where digital platforms meet physical devices and regulated mobile services. As our platform continues to evolve, we are investing in strong product execution to ensure our systems scale reliably and deliver meaningful outcomes for customers.
About the Role
We are looking for a Product Manager with a technical or systems-oriented mindset to drive execution across Spacetalk’s digital and connected product ecosystem.
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role suited to someone who enjoys understanding how systems work, using data to guide decisions, and turning ambiguity into structured, high-quality delivery. You will work end-to-end across hardware and software, owning defined product workstreams and partnering closely with engineering, design and data.
This is not a design-led PM role. It is ideal for a Product Manager who thrives on execution, clarity and technical depth, and who wants to have a direct impact on a category-defining Australian technology platform.
- The role reports to the Director of Product, with scope and ownership scaling based on experience and impact.
- Key Responsibilities
- Product Delivery and Ownership
- Own defined product areas or workstreams from problem definition through delivery and iteration
- Partner closely with engineering to shape solutions that are technically sound and commercially viable
- Break initiatives into clear epics, stories and acceptance criteria
- Run and participate in sprint ceremonies with a focus on predictability, quality and throughput
Technical and System Understanding
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of backend systems, APIs, data flows and integrations
- Translate technical constraints and dependencies into clear product decisions and trade-offs
- Document business rules, edge cases and system behaviour to reduce ambiguity and rework
- Act as a reliable interface between product and engineering teams
Data and Decision Making
- Use product usage data, operational metrics and customer signals to inform prioritisation
- Define success metrics for features and monitor performance post-launch
- Support analysis of funnels, adoption, errors and performance issues
- Investigate anomalies and root causes in collaboration with engineering and data teams
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Design, Customer Support, Operations and Marketing to ensure smooth delivery and launch
- Surface risks and issues early and drive resolution across teams
- Support go-to-market efforts with clear internal documentation and release notes
Requirements
You are a Product Manager who enjoys execution and ownership. You are comfortable working with technical detail, asking the right questions, and turning complex systems and constraints into clear product outcomes.
You are structured, analytical and detail-oriented, but pragmatic. You value clarity over perfection and are motivated by building products that work well for customers in the real world.
Must Have
- A technical, analytical or systems-oriented background such as engineering, data, business analysis, consulting or product
- Experience working closely with engineering teams on complex products
- Strong understanding of technical concepts such as APIs, system interactions and data flows
- Strong written communication and documentation skills
- A structured approach to problem solving and delivery
- Curiosity, ownership and a bias toward action
Desirable
- Experience with consumer apps, platforms or connected devices
- Familiarity with analytics tools, SQL or data querying
- Experience working across hardware and software environments
Benefits
- Meaningful ownership of product workstreams with real customer impact
- Close collaboration with engineering, data and leadership teams
- Opportunity to grow scope and autonomy as impact is demonstrated
- Exposure to complex systems across hardware, software and mobile services
Why Join Us
This is an opportunity to build real product capability in a complex, high-impact environment. You will work on products that matter, solve meaningful problems, and see your decisions translate directly into customer outcomes.
If you enjoy execution, clarity and ownership, and want to grow as a Product Manager while working on a unique connected technology platform, we would love to hear from you.
